How complete arturo vidal was at juventus was crazy, in my opinion he was the most key player in the midfield, not for nothing he was even the top scorer and assisting player of juve in one season as a midfielder.

In those years I used yo watch almost every Juve game. Man, those four were amazing. Especially pirlo and prime pogba were on a different level. Pirlo was a bit old but still amazing, a real orchestra conductor and pogba was fast, skilled and his shot from outside the box was just perfect. They were really a joy for the eyes.

Il Pirlo juventino era la metà di quello che era al Milan ed era comunque uno dei più forti al mondo. Senza Pirlo il Milan di Ancelotti avrebbe vinto un decimo. Fun fact: da quando Pirlo non gioca più, l'Italia non ha più fatto un mondiale. Lui ci fece vincere quello del 2006 (man of the match in 3 partite su 7, finale e semifinale comprese). Il pallone d'oro a Cannavaro invece che a lui fu un furto bello e buono e pure quello di Kakà ad essere sinceri.

Io l'unico altro giocatore che ho visto che ha visione di gioco, intelligenza, velocità di pensiero come quelle di Pirlo è Leo Messi (a cui però devi aggiungere tutto il resto, motivo per cui è senza dubbio il miglior giocatore di questo secolo e forse anche di tutti i tempi). Questi due stavano sempre un passo avanti agli altri. Pirlo è sempre stato sottovalutato, perché segna poco, non dribbla mezza squadra avversaria, non fa numeri da giocoliere, non fa il Tiki Taka di Xavi e Iniesta con 892 mila passaggi. Pirlo era quello che a Grosso disse, se vedi spazio per andare dentro, vai dentro, non preoccuparti se sono girato dall'altra parte io ti vedo comunque, tu vai dentro e poi ci penso io. E ci ha pensato lui.

Not many managers and sporting directors get how important balance is, at least from the way they set up teams it seems like they don't. Just see how perfect this midfield is with how they complement each other, cover each others weaknesses and platform each others strengths. Can't think of a single midfield in football today that is even close to this one.

I think the best mid should mix technique and physicality, there is no way on hell they are better than Milan with Ancelotti Gullit and Rijkaard. I hate to say it but even Modric Kroos and Casemiro is a Better midfield. I still think the 2015 Juventus mid was better than 2015 Barcelona mid, and that game got to Barca favour for 2 reasons: poor ref decisions and that mf front trio
