Is this the most versatile guitar? This is the Fret King Corona Custom - it has a P90, a single coil, and a humbucker. It also has two push/push pots which allow you to have the P90 and humbucker together or even all 3 pickups on at the same time. As well as that, the P90 taps and the humbucker splits making this the most versatile guitar I've ever played

I'm a big fan of P90. I love what they do in the neck position. They have this big roundness combined with the punch of a single coil. I love the configuration of this ax. Very smart.

Nice selection of pickups and versatility! I like they sourced a white p90 cover instead of cream one, looks nice.

This seems to be what was previously the Geoff Whitehorn signature model, maybe with more recent variations on the pickups, but the versatility is the same. Very tempted.

Trev Wilkinson designs often have something a little bit different and this is no exception. For ages I have been saying why don't manufacturers use push/push pots rather than push/pull so well done Fret King!

Interesting neck pickup! Look up the Soapstack, it's a stacked coil P90, so the tap/split function of the tone control simply bypasses one of the stacked coils (as it does with one of the bridge pickup's coils). I'm guessing that the AlNiCo V/Ceramic hybrid magnet involves having one of each, as a P90 has two bar magnets (one on either side of the pole pieces). Clever!

Are you sure about what you stated the tuners are? Something different comes up on e-bay. I thought you'd built that one yourself.

It looks like older models had a different spec. These tuners are definitely locking Wilkinson ones.

Great review ... love the versatility ... these days it saves bunch of money which is great 😉 in a kind of similar approach and for a cheaper version of it (with less possibility although, "only nine") the Ibanez AZES 40 Mgr is a killer for 329€ ...

I have a guitar which I think is more versatile. Partscaster. Strat style - two tones one volume. Three duo rail pups - each pup has its own switch for off, single coil and humbucker. 26 combos possible.

One question.......you say you can coil tap the P90 via push/pull control.... didn't realise you can coil tap a single coil pickup ie: a P90 ???⁸

Yep, the P90 tabs to remove a certain number of winds. Sounded great. Pretty sure the humbucker also split on this one
