Been using the Tamrom 17-70 ever since it was released and it is my event/studio workhorse. Mainly using it with my Fujo XT2. I also own the Sigma 18-50 for my stabilized bodies like the XS10.

I've recently acquired this lens and I'm impressed, it's likely going to dethrone my Sigma 18-35/1.8. When choosing a replacement lens I needed more range than what the Sigma 18-35 could produce. I tested portrait work done at 55/2.8 and at 70/2.8 with my 50-140/2.8 and its a substantial difference imo to the look, a 70@2.8 hits so much harder than 55@2.8. This eventually became the clincher factor that pushed me towards the purchase. By the way 6:04 is a super portrait, gorgeous.

I bought this lens for $500.00 dollars for my Fujifilm XT3 and I like it a lot it has all the things you mentioned in the video and it isn't that heavy, the fact that it is 2.8 and sharp from edge to edge Tamron delivered an excellent zoom lens for walking with it fairly compact and lightweight.

I recently spent 5 weeks in Japan with it and am very satisfied. A fixed focal length is still good to have, like the 23/2 (compact) or 33/1.4 (great) or 14/2.8 (wide).

Using this lens for long time. Its kinda huge. Sometimes i want to buy sigma 18 50 but everytime i use this lens the 50 to 70 have a very big difference using in the real world experience specially shooting portrait shot. It really is the all around lens that you dont have to bring any other lens. Just to share i always bring one more lens to me. The canon 50 to 250 stm lens with adapter. It is small compare to other zoom lens. For shooting things that I cant reach in 70mm

Ive been using this lense for a while now paired with my XH2s and I really like the combo. The lense is also great for Travel filming. The only thing I found which can get pretty annoying is the Image Stabilisation of the lense while using it on a Gimbal. When the IS is turned on it creates this microjidder in the footage and it is supper hard to fix it in post. So always turn IS off while using it on a gimbal.

thanks for the tip. I will keep that in mind next time i film somehting with this lens.

I want this lens to pair with my X-T2, though if it had it had IBIS I would go with the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8. It would be great to see how it performs in video with non-IBIS bodies.

I don't think this generation of cameras and processor can do it. Or should I say, i don't trust their engineers to fix it in this generation.
@brianw664511 күн бұрын
@Iamtongue I agree, but what about an XT6 or XH3S? Do you ever see them getting it fixed? I'm hanging on to a couple of leftover lenses and am debating whether I should give up and just sell them. So frustrating, as I loved Fujifilm gear.
@Iamtongue11 күн бұрын
@ I hope so, But we'll have to wait and see what fuji does. It seems like they forgot about the prosumer users out there. They are now marketing towards the beginners and the content creators. And yea I agree I love Fujifilm as well. But they rather have their hands down their pants than to provide us with great software developers to fix this AF algorithm ahahha. Some have argued that this processor is capable of handling the AF. It just comes down to the algorithm.

I wish we could have another 3rd party telephone zoom to cover the 70-200 range, as an alternative to the fuji 50-140 that costs two kidneys. But it's probably just me. Most fuji users seem to only want wider lenses for the 1×-5×mm range.

Bro, take this as constructive criticism, but next time try to lead by saying the name of the brand, not only the focal length. I was casually following the video without reading the description or watching every single frame, you mentioned the name "Tamron" at the very last 15 seconds. So, it was difficult to understand what you were talking of as you said "this lens" all the time.
