Just ordered my v803, it’s arriving Friday, and I’ll be gigging Saturday with it!

Love my BB800, simple two knob EQ, sounds perfect flat or minimal EQ. This looks and sounds great.

I'm still rocking my first batch BB800, I paired it with quilter interbass so I still don't have any reason to change to this new model!

I have the first version of the bass block and in its bare simplicity (no fx loop, no voice selector...) is really a powerhouse!

I'm glad they fixed the weird XLR input on the 802 and put an XLR out instead. I hope there's no noise from the XLR like the 1/4" SIG output on the 802. Sold my 802, apart from that it's a nice-sounding amp, albeit with limited EQ shaping.

Love my Bass Block 800, it's clean, clear, powerful and as reliable as a stone axe, but an effects loop.... Hmmmm Nice demonstration btw.

I'm a little conflicted. I have an 802 and like it, but I'm not sure if the 803 actually suits my needs any better. The mode switch is cool, and the semi-para mid band is cool, but on my 802, I use both mid bands often. I suppose I could get away with just one, but it's something I would have to play with.
@timshea5721Ай бұрын
If I didn't already have the 802 I would get the 803 . My 802 pushes a Darkglass 1000w 2x12 just Beautifully !
@Chief069Ай бұрын
I like the amp, but wish they would be made in California where Quilter is located for quality issues. Not sure about QC when made in China. I owned a Bass Block 800, really liked it, but sold it and purchased a Mesa 800+ and so happy I did, much more versatile, and Mesa builds them in California.
@taylorhilyard8661Ай бұрын
Still rocking the Bass Block 800. The new features are attractive but if it ain’t broke.

I have the 800 and like the XLR input, so I can go straight from my Mesa+ pre and use it as a power amp.

What do you think about this vs the Venture from Ampeg....the more clips I hear of the 803 vs The Ampeg especially the v7 I think the Venture edges this out at the same price point .....what do you think.

I have a GRBass One 800 but I'm seeking the "ampeg grit sound". Question is: for an allround sound but also the "ampeg thing", is it better the GRBass (and pedals for the ampeg sounds), an Ampeg Venture V7 or this Quilter?

That's all pretty interesting. For some reason I was thinking that Quilter had gotten out of the bass amp business. Obviously I was wrong.

Would you recommend this over Orange Little Bass Thing, Markbass Little Mark 58r or Ampeg V7?
@compucorder64Ай бұрын
It think it might turn out a bit cheaper than the Ampeg V7? Depending on where you are and potentially the exchange rate/local pricing. And the Quilter definitely appears to be more tour-worthy, with a sturdier looking metal frame chassis. The V7 definitely sounds really nice. But it's made from plastic, and so doesn't exactly seem built for the rough and tumble of touring.
@MorgchaАй бұрын
@@compucorder64 I had the V7 to test but I wasn't happy about the build quality compared to the price. I also don't understand why their 1x12" cab is rated at 250w instead of 350 - 400w like the Orange BC112. Orange lacks some features that would be nice to have and from listening to demos I'm not the biggest fan of Markbass sound. Demo's seldom tell the whole truth though. I don't have the opportunity to test out all these amps so I have to rely on opinions from people who know what they're talking about. The Quilter Bass Block seems like a great amp, but no one imports Quilter products to my country. Also I'm not completely convinced if any of the class d amps are rigid enough for heavy touring but that's not the number one priority for me anyway.

Nice review. But i would like to have the di on the front of the amp. Much easier

Great vid…. But…. only dampening strings when playing to demonstrate a feature just ruins the experience. However, I love the channel …. It is very informative.👍🏼

I have the Quilter Interbass (45watt) in my studio and it's the best amp I ever had, I love it Combined with one 10-inch Eminence speaker It's perfect for recording, practice and jamming. If I still was a touring musician I would buy the 803 without testing, but since I've stopped doing gigs I have no use for it (other than annoying my neighbors ).

it's not perfect, because it's ugly. On a more serious note, I don't see any way of remotely switching channels? like a foot switch or midi in. That can be a bit impractical on stage.
@swiftymcgarnagle4567Ай бұрын
I thought it’s predecessor was uglier
@compucorder64Ай бұрын
It is a bit basically functional looking, for sure. But on the other hand, it also looks more professional, and much sturdier chassis build quality than the Ampeg V7. If I had to choose between ugly and fragile reliable, I think I'd take ugly - but then there's sound to consider - I think I prefer how Ampeg's sound. I think the Mark Bass units are pretty ugly too, and I don't love their sound. Aguilar make nicer looking heads, that are well built and sound really good too. And Dark Glass designs are quite nice too. But then there's price... And soundwise, I think personally favour Ampeg, and so would maybe just build a V7 into a proper sturdy road case.
@subliminallabsАй бұрын
Also, this is way overpriced. I'll stick with my Rumble 500 thank you.

I saw a picture posted on Talkbass, of the Quilter v803 docking into the current Quilter cabs, I plan on ordering the v803 soon ! I already own an 802 and it’s amazing , have played well over 100 gigs with it, never had a single issue, but I still want the v803.
