Nice to see the Wood Warblers, and I'm surprised to see ( hear ) that Golden Orioles visit the Netherlands, do they breed there? I've only ever seen them in Spain, I love their flute-like song. I must try to get to that area at the end of the month, that will be the next time I'm in Amsterdam visiting my family. Thanks for the video.🐦🐦🐦

Yeah although scarce they sure breed here. We had two birds on this day. Also the Lauwersmeer is a very good spot for this species.

Dat ligt er natuurlijk ook aan hoe ver je moet rijden. Voor mij is het slechts een half uurtje

Fantastic! One hundred and twenty-six species in a day!!! The Netherlands has got to be the go to place to see birds.

There are ups and downs when it comes to birding in the Netherlands. It is true that we have some areas where you can see a lot of species in one day, but on the other hand we lack the very large undisturbed nature areas where you can really explore. For twitching it is great that we have a lot of shoreline compared to the surface of the country which increases the chances of finding rare birds. It also helpt that we have a high population density and the Netherlands is a rich country which makes that there are relatively a lot of birdwatchers per km2 here. That also helps in finding more rare birds. And to twitch a bird you almost never have to drive more than 4 hours to get there.

Geweldig mannen, weer een stimulans om weer eens in dit gebied te struinen. Wel opvallend dat de slangenarend liet afweten, toch een veel geziene gast hier.

Hele mooie video! Drie opmerkingen: (1) het is Woodcock voor houtsnip, dus zonder dat 'snipe' erbij, (2) het laten oppoppen van de namen van de vogels in losse stukjes maakt de video erg onrustig en (3) die prior footages zijn leuk, maar die aalscholver op een zeehavendukdalf past niet echt.

Ik deed een big day in de kempen, brabant. Geëindigd op 118, soorten gemist zoals kwartelkoning ….

Tja Kwartelkoning missen is volgens mij geen schande gezien hoe zeldzaam die tegenwoordig zijn.... mooie score!

Ik vind de balts van de Houtsnip fantastisch. Ook de Nachtzwaluw scoort hoog. Ik ben sowieso vek op die vogels die je vooral snachts of in de vroege ochtend kunt horen zoals Watersnip, Kwartel, Kwartelkoning, Porseleinhoen etc.

@@TheDutchBirder Ik heb met mijn broertje ook een KZbin kanaal waar we dingen vertellen over vissen vogels en anderen dieren. Moet je echt eens checken we heten de Natuur Boys.
