unfortunately you dont understand the point of lucian nami in competitive play, and why lucian is *only* picked with nami milio- mid wave play if you are picking lucian nami in a high level comp game and you are going essence reaver, navori etc theres no point because lucian is not a DPS carry, there will always be more reliable dps carries edit: LUCIAN IN COMP PLAY IS NOT AN EARLY GAME CHAMP, he has a decent lanephase into an insane midgame, the best 1-2 items in the role the reason why pros prioritize lucian nami so highly is because in high level competitive, the ability to reliably generate mid prio if setup properly (in terms of vision and hovers) leading to first move on a mid->side play gives you so much power both in terms of being first to setup for neutrals/sieges/etc and also in terms of allowing your sidelanes to really thrive and generate massive income advantages also means that melee supports in enemy team will generally have to hover mid a lot (to prevent you from just dashing) which they tend to just be worse at, and that junglers also tend to spend a lot of time in river compared to usual- empowering picks such as maokai or especially vi with high pick potential and lockdown, and really hurting champs that want the game to happen on their timings (karthus brand udyr etc) there are other upsides to lucian nami/milio ofc, such as the incredible choke-point control and reliable single target blowup, and the fact that it can function both as a strongside and weakside and is really blindable, but there are other champs to fill these roles- what makes lucian lanes unique is the incredible power of "press E forwards on midwave and take half of enemy ADCs HP with little counterplay" and the dynamics that generates

I guess there is a reason you commented this on youtube not on reddit. Afraid to lose some karma because of quoting some stuff others have come up with as an explanation why people pick this average at best botlane combo. Lucian Nami is unable to win any lane if literally first picked because you can counter them giga hard. They will be weak midgame and lose the game doing nothing. They are also not good as a counterpick because Nami and Lucian wanna do different things while they aren't able to counter anything harder than some other pick would. Just because you can slap E on Lucian culling doesn't mean you can't slap it on anything else that has range. Mostly the good teams are picking Lucian Nami because they will win with it anyways by being more skilled. You have mid prio by being the better team not because this mediocre waveclear / medium threat combo sits in midlane pushing first. When all the picks Lucian Nami have to lane against consist of nerfed Varus or Aphelios + X it will look just fine. Botlaners haven't been playing the meta in almost forever. Sometimes they might identify one strong ADC pick to then drop it after nerfs and going back to Lucian Nami vs some Varus, Kalista (you know all that stuff). Basically no one fields mages bot (or actual strong botlane picks that are ADCs), when they have been meta forever. In the upcoming mid season ADC changes they will be giga buffed because the class blows and pro players have been practicing nonsense forever. It's fine, pro players will be playing ADC meta champs in 2 weeks again. At least that's what they're good at because they can only right click and supports are too handless to play AP poke champs as well when the enemy picks nonsense that is easily punished by it. But you surely always need engage when the enemy drafts an anti dive comp so you lose for free, at least you could start a fight you know. That's why we don't pick ranged support mages, supports in pro play should just be 7 levels behind the enemy midlaner, put wards and engage to then insta die. Unless they are enchanter then they buy mikaels every game to be a cleanse bot vs one stun that will never hit a carry because your team picked frontline anyways. Cleansing your 5k HP weak Sejuani really does help out your team win the game instead of buffing a carry with staff or ardent. Pro players have almost no idea about strategy (ADCs are even worse in that respect) at all they just pick by feeling and their feeling is betraying them. All pro players are basically onetricks at this point, they wanna be strong early game and snowball, that's their biggest fetish. Just unlucky that games go infinitely long now because we are in mid lategame meta, even laneswapping is a thing again because doing normal laning won't grant you enough advantages to snowball. You can pick better scaling, lane swap to lose out on gold and still win at minute 40 because ending games needs elder dragon every time. Sometimes you can get lucky with cloud soul and just giga slam the enemy team with tempo on the map after you get it, sadly that doesn't have the highest chance to actually happen. So it's cool that you think Lucian Nami is great and I can't convince you otherwise because you listened to some great big content creators that said these things. Sadly all they do is watch pro play and try to make up reasons for why it's all great what they're seeing on their screen. When all you do is limited to that you actually have no idea what should actually be played, the content creators and all the "experts" are in their own bubble. If you do actual research you would not come to these conclusions. So just pick it in your solo queue games and it will surely make you climb to reach pro play, it's just that powerful. Right now FLY vs PSG is happening while I type this and guess FLY is winning with Lucian Nami right now, they picked it first / early!!! That surely means it's good, wow they just used all the combos strength so well!!! Just no... I have rarely seen a worse draft than that of PSG, they should be ashamed of themselves to pick such horrendous stuff after having a free win last game when FLY first picked Nautilus.
