Sprint cars have never been my thing but I have huge respect for the racers and would never turn down a chance to drive one of those beasts either. Really liking the diversity in this series. Great video!

Chris, this was awesome!! I'm so glad you got to get a firsthand experience - there's nothing else like it in the world. Brian is very lucky to have extra chassis and cars; coming from a small, driver-owned team, we don't have that luxury. Thanks for the great explanations from Brian, too - makes it a lot easier for those that haven't seen this stuff to understand!

@Anthony Huynh basically the wing, as us dirt fanatics call them, is ment for downforce, since like he said in the video, there is so much grip, caused from the air pushing the ass end down. Without these wings, the cars would be very unstable, and often leave contact with the ground, due to the 900+hp engines. The wings also serve as a purpose to tune the drive of the car, if it be to loose, or to tight on the track, simply by moving the wing forward or backward to adjust how the air pushes on the car. This can be done in the cockpit, with hydraulics. The small wing in the front of the car, helps push air up over the hood, and onto the top wing. Hope I helped some what the top wing does. As for the dish in the wing, some wings are dished out like that, and some are just flat, it all depends on driver feel, personally we run our car with a dished wing. Hope I helped!

I know of a sprint car garage in Nesbit MS. I stumbled across it one day after misreading some "follow the signs to a poker game" signs. Had 4 quarter midgets, 5 USAC 410s, and a few Outlaws if I remember correctly. It's been a few years.

The fuel pump is practically between your feet, and the main fuel line feeding to the pump runs atop your right foot. There's not a lot of space to be had.

how come the spoiler is shaped like that? is it because they're racing in an oval?
@jjhoops02310 жыл бұрын
Yup, because they only make left turns and the cars are so light, the wing is designed so that downforce is applied to keep the car level and on the ground
