Quite honestly very impressed with this review. Like, you reviewed it like a normal person doing normal person things in your chair. Very nice.

Thanks for your review, I've earmarked the c7 to replace my old ikea chair. Got to try it on display in a flexispot supplier in Tokyo. My overall first impressions were great, but i might want to go back and try the mesh with shorts on. I really wasn't keen on the footrest, it certainly wasn't set up for my height. Need a second impression. Definitely your input has given me for to think about.

Glad you found the video! I also received another chair after this one that was about double the price but a similar design. It's better but to be totally honest neither of them are the chair to get. I mean maybe for the price point it's one of the better ones I'm not quite sure. I saw the Herman Miller ones prices went way up so that's out of the question now... But I'm still extremely curious about Secret Labs because everybody seems to swear by them. Have you ever sat in one and if so what did you think?

I will send you a message from Japan. (I use a translation app.) It was nice to see your honest review as the Japanese KZbinrs only showcased the good parts. Thanks for the great video.

Thank you for your message and taking the time to translate it! I appreciate that 😍 I understand why some reviewers don't want to talk about the negative things... It makes it a little awkward when working with these companies. But the only kind of companies that I really want to work with anyways are the ones who can handle it and love the challenge of getting honest reviews. I've been impressed with how flexi-spot has handled my video and just the communication with them. I'm hopeful for them. Are you considering any other chairs?

What I find interesting is how your lumbar works. I brought the same chair, but the base of my lumbar support has a spring inside which makes it less movable than what is shown in the video.
@TheSAHDLife4 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! Hmmm so your lumbar has less flex? Has your slide lever been fine? Have you been happy with the chair otherwise?

Hey Evan ! I’m sure you’ll have bruised flexi-spot’s ego in the short-term but this was a balanced review and fair, especially given that your wife liked it more than you and you acknowledged that. I reckon they’ll see the positives of sending you the product. Hope you score a test desk! Great mouse on that desk you have now …😉 See you - Rich. 🇬🇧👋🇨🇦

Thanks for watching. It's tough when it comes to chairs/mice etc... things that might fit one person well but another person not so much. This chair isn't bad but just needs a little bit more thought... if they want to ask the high price tag anyway. What chair are you using and what are you considering?

I was about to buy this chair before watching your video. Your review is just great did you also reviewed other chairs (didn t find any) Which one to buy then for a similar price ?

Glad you found the video! Unfortunately no, I haven't found the right chair yet. I am currently sitting in my old Ikea chair still. Everyone swears by Herman Miller chairs but they raised their prices (oof) and I once sat in a Secret Labs chair and really loved it but haven't spent enough time there to have a real opinion on it. That's what I would look into next though if I had some cash set aside for a new chair.
@shanekay7854Ай бұрын
I purchased my C7..then saw your review. I literally moved away from the same Ikea chair to this and you're spot on with everything. Love the idea of the chair but the mesh is uncomfortable on my legs, the arms moving unwillingly and not going back far enough are a bit of an issue for me. Not a horrible chair but could use some improvements. I'm curious how the new C7 Pro max is.
@TheSAHDLifeАй бұрын
I know right? It's close but not quite. It's got some good things going and like you said, future ones might be a little more on point. I'm actually sitting in my old Ikea chair right now, working... hehe. Appreciate the comment 👊 I'd really like to try a Secretlab chair next but I'm too cheap to buy one.
@luvmydogsalot3 ай бұрын
I wish I had found your video before purchasing this chair because I HATE it! All the things you don't like except for the front of the seat because I purchased the cushion version. I'll add to that the fact my seat won't move away from the seat back, it doesn't adequately tilt and I feel like I am going to fall off the front of the chair, the back does not lock into place when I recline, and the lumbar support adjuster doesn't do anything. I have had the chair assembly and in use for a week. Of course, I got rid of the box before putting the chair through its paces and I really don't want to go through the hassle of returning it. I'll put it someplace else in my house and purchase a different brand of chair.
@TheSAHDLife3 ай бұрын
Awwww, sorry to hear :( That's a bummer. I know, I was really excited to get it. Then, right as it was assembled I had the thought "what if this sucks" and, it kind of did. I was crestfallen 🤣 Everyone just seems to love their Herman Miller but they just raised the price and I am skeptical it's that good. Maybe Secret Labs is the one, they seem pretty amazing.

@TheSAHDLife25 күн бұрын
Let's just say this... right now as I'm writing you I'm sitting in my Markus chair too.... 😅 Hermans Millers seem to be the way to go but I think Secret Lab chairs are pretty amazing too. That's what I will probably try next if I can ever get a sick deal on one.

Looking for a chair that checks similar boxes. What’s the top option you’ve found?
@TheSAHDLife13 күн бұрын
Honestly I haven't found the right one yet. I'd really like to try a Secret Labs chair even though it's a "gaming" chair... and Herman Miller's are obviously great but they bumped up their prices recently. Might be worth keeping eyes peeled on the private market for those two. You could luck out on a sick deal!
@CarlosA.Balandrin13 күн бұрын
I have some Co-Workers that have SecretLabs and love them. I always get a bit sketchy when you hit that type of price point and the warranty seems light. What Herman Miller model would you recommend?
@TheSAHDLife13 күн бұрын
@CarlosA.Balandrin a few friends have the Aeron and swear by em. One of my best buds has one and he's a pretty big boy gamer and chews through chairs usually. I think he's had his for 5 years now and says it still feels like it's brand new! And yeah I feel you on the price point. I don't really want to spend that much either... But I do spend a lot of time in that chair so it's tough. If I could go somewhere and they had them all set up it would be a little easier than just blindly ordering it online right?

I wish they sent you the C7 Max - it looks like it's a newer version(came out in March 2024 I think?) but it's still hard to tell if important things were fixed like the armrest. Nice detailed review though.

That would have been sweet. Yeah I did the best with what I had. I'm impressed with Flexi spot in the sense that they approved the video and were happy for me to launch it. I've gotten to the point with the size of my channel where I only accept products that I'm actually interested in and if they are okay that I pick it apart then that's great. Hopefully I'll start getting better and better quality stuff sent to me and I can't wait to share the good stuff!

@paulahrens3028 yeah that's a good idea! Though it would be a pain to ship and it's fully built state lol. I'm sorry man I wasn't trying to make you feel bad if you purchased the chair... The reason she's not using it is because another company sent me an even better chair which I haven't reviewed yet... Even though it's better it's still not the perfect one. I think Herman Miller in secret labs are still the top dogs but I just saw the Herman Miller Aeron chair price went up and it's not even close to being affordable anymore! Hey man, how's your alcohol situation now days since your experiment? I'm at a point where I'm down to 10mg lexapro now, after 15 years of 20. I had to start TRT because my levels were super low for my age and that's helped so far with motivation and fatigue. I still take a .25 xan in mornings though, and that started because a neck nerve issue that caused nausea and dizziness under light stress, working on the neck issue still. Well.........so again, after a few breaks here and there, I'm back to a few tall cans each night. Was mostly IPA but started back to regular beer and trying to cut it all down again. I was back in gym doing better then freakin fractured a vertebrae in a wipeout, so no gym for three months and right back to the nightly drinking. so, i've tried to skip the morning xan, by noon i will start feeling almost car sick, so i take it and it goes away. by 5 after work i start feeling the same thing, half a beer and it's gone. these are pry just withdrawals? ugh i just feel like alcohol gives life color back, and also helps my other issues the doctors still can't fix. I don't drink at work, i don't even crave it, but do you think that yuck feeling is my body saying hey where's my damn drinks?
@TheSAHDLife3 ай бұрын
Thanks for checking in! The mind-gut connection is crazy. I've been dealing with some anxiety for the last year or so (noise coming from neighbours) and, it's warped my life. I can't believe how much thinking and energy I'm wasting on something that's really not a big deal, especially to most people. My neighbours aren't vicious people or anything, they just like to play loud music once in awhile. I'm saying that to say this... during this last year I've drank alcohol, taken alcohol breaks, bumped up my fitness, ate well, ate like garbage, etc... and, the eating well and exercising DO help... and drinking makes things worse... but the most important thing out of all of it is the inner work I do. I'm not a religious person but I've been working on acceptance in life and embracing spirituality, and it's only when I'm listening to it daily do I find inner peace. And that's the goal. Peace. Contentment. I think the pit in our stomach and hole in our hearts are a result of our minds wanting things to be different from how they are... and you can't ever really fix that. You just have to change the way we think about how things should be, does that make sense? I think that yuck feeling is more than just your body wanting drinks. I think it could be a sign that you need to work on opening up your heart to experience and engage more with life. At least that's what I'm trying now and it feels like it's working more than anything else has. Sorry if that's a weird answer? Hehe. If you want to chat more about it I'm all for it. If you want any book or podcast suggestions etc let me know. Let's get through this loving life and pumped for everyday you know!?

An ergonomic chair is for sitting, not lying down. What a mania for praising that you can lean and put your feet up. It's absurd.

At the end of the day the chair just needs to be comfortable and good value, at least for me. This chair wasn't either of those things unfortunately.
