For me I have enough subscriptions in my life so don’t want another one. I’m tired of every app trying to rope me into a new subscription. I’d rather pay like $50 once if I want an app rather than be charged and then eventually be punished by losing access if I have to unsubscribe and lose everything I invested.

Understand your point, but this app is not only a piece of software, there is a lot of content to be created to make it work as intended. There is a team of people working on it and the development is continuous, as I said we are uploading new songs daily, and that wouldn't be sustainable with a 50$ one time fee. If you value practicing on ear training the way our app does (full songs, different genres, etc.) the current pricing is great value for what you get in exchange, if you still don't like subscription please read my comment below this one and join the discussion as we are open to introduce new payment options. We are just trying to find a sustainable way to do so. Again read my comment below before letting us know your thoughts.

That sounds good, but I'm with him. That's not what I want. Instead of all the extras that take away from the purpose of our decision to buy the product, you should focus on the customer's needs and not the money you can make from the product. I'll pass. @@UseYourEar

@@HurriedDragons ok, I understand your point. Just so you know, we're open to introducing different payment options. They would have to be sustainable though, paying a small one time fee won't be sustainable unfortunately. I hope you can understand that. So I'm thinking about this: What about giving the option to users to pay a small fee for each song you decide to work on, it would be kinda like itunes, you purchase a song and its yours, you can access it forever. This way you actually pay only for what you use and you never lose access to it. Would something like that work better for you?

Thank you for encouraging me to grow as a musician. I've been trying to use the app since launch and I have a lot of feedback. Im a singer of some skill and experience with a weak ear. I had recently begun to train a more traditional way before finding your channel. I find the app incredibly frustrating. I don't think I'm learning anything wildly guessing at the intervals. I constantly confuse the play button and the next section arrow. The blob positioning drifting left and right is mildly infuriating. When the "Failure box" pops up and I can't see the wrong notes highlighted behind it so I'm retrying blindly leading to 5 or 10 minute training sessions where no progress is made. You have unintentionally made the Dark Souls of ear training and that's not my cup of tea. I think I'll make a 5-10 minute video if I can find a good way to screen record so you can see someone outside of your students try and use it.
@UseYourEar
@UseYourEar 22 күн бұрын
thanks for your comment. I believe a big part of why you are finding the app frustrating is indeed because you are approaching recognition using an interval based approach, which I strongly discourage students to use. To solve that I recommend you to watch other videos on our channel (like this one kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5PVnpWPlq6cmrs ) and get to know more about our method, which will definitely make a ton of difference on that aspect. Regarding the more technical issues regarding the User Interface, I believe you are totally spot on with your comments; we'll definitely fix all of those little but annoying issues in our next update. We apologize for that, hope you can have a little patience while waiting for us to improve the UI. Thanks

Unfortunately, there isn’t a discount available at the moment, as we’ve already worked to make the regular price as affordable as possible. However, we have some exciting plans for our current course members. While I can’t reveal the details just yet, rest assured that subscribers will enjoy special benefits as we release additional features. We deeply appreciate our early supporters, and we’re incredibly thankful for your trust in us. Please give us a little more time to implement everything. Hey! I'm really happy you guys came up with this app. I'm downloading and subscribing right away! Just some quick feedback: it would be awesome to have a "score mode" where you can write down real notes without worrying about rhythm (kind of like what you've already done). This would help me train two things at once and open up more possibilities. For example, it could help differentiate whether 7ths are being played in a given context or what inversion is being used. At a certain level, this could be up to the learner to decide. Thanks for the awesome work! You’ve got my full support! :)

@UseYourEar
@UseYourEar 7 күн бұрын
Undo is not only once, it's only for the latest dragged note. If you misdragged a note that's a thing, so the app always lets you undo the latest note you dragged. But if you actually dragged notes on the incorrect degree on purpose that's should be counted as mistakes, so the app doesn't let you undo indefinitely.

Very clever features that must have been a lot of work ! Thank you ! At what stage of the uye method do you recommend diving into the app ?
@UseYourEar
@UseYourEar 28 күн бұрын
Hi, thank you for your feedback! The ideal starting point for using the app is around Unit 3 of the course. However, we also encourage students in earlier units to explore the app occasionally, taking advantage of all the available facilitations. The only exception might be for those working on Unit 0, as it could be a bit too early for them to fully benefit from the app in its current state. That said, we're continuously adding new features to make the app suitable for all levels, so this advice may soon be outdated.

Hey, I noticed that in chord mode it lets me do the same chord progression again and again in different phrases. (Which gets boring and repetitive) Also - when I complete all phrases it just loops back to 1.
@UseYourEar
@UseYourEar 7 күн бұрын
I'm not getting this. Some songs have the same chord progression multiple times, so this is normal. Practicing on songs is the purpose of the app. If you wanna practice exercises that's not actually the purpose of the app for now, but we'll include them in the future.
@ShaharHarshuv
@ShaharHarshuv 10 күн бұрын
Btw, drawing the piano keys properly (with the right spacing between black and white keys) in CSS is not such a difficult task. I would recommend investing 10 minutes in this. You need to make so that the top part (the black keys and the narrow white keys) will create an exact equal distance for each key, but the white keys alone will also have an exact equal distance.
@UseYourEar
@UseYourEar 7 күн бұрын
Sure there are a lot of small fixes and improvement needed, we'll get them right once we finished fully developing the core features.
@ShaharHarshuv

Why not allow dragging to non-datonic notes without clicking a button? Also the sharps notation could be wrong. What if it's a b3 and not a #2?
@UseYourEar
@UseYourEar 7 күн бұрын
That would mess up the UI for no reasons, 99% of the notes and chords are within the tonality. So non-diatonic notes are "exceptions" and thus why there is a button to access them. That said, in piano mode you can hit all the non-diatonic notes immediately without accessing a separate screen. I would suggest you use piano mode. The sharp notation, is just a placeholder to indicate the lanes, it's not thought out to be compliant to all music theory scenario, that would require lots of additional programming that really doesn't make a practical difference for users. So we save this for later.

The fact that the blob plays the note should be removed or turned off as an option. This gives too much information. Especially if you allow the user to move the blob. Then it is just a process of pitch matching, not really using the ear.
@raybart5604
@raybart5604 26 күн бұрын
@@1967dtb Actually I have found you can play the notes without moving the blob. I am finding it useful right now. I get the phrases pretty easily with the piano on but just the vocal is a lot harder. I really only listen to instrumental jazz music and while you are right about pitch matching it helps initially and a couple of phrases in I don’t need it so much. You can always change the Facilitation level to realistic on the game settings which turns off the blob sound.
