When Sr. mentions 'Diamond Girl' I think of the Seals & Crofts tune from 1973. It was the first song I taped off the radio with my new Lloyds tape recorder. 😄

I absolutely love your passion for all things 2 wheels. Your knowledge and expertise in these classics and up are your forte. You’d be hard pressed to find another collector as passionate as you Ken. Your crew is about the best you can get. What a win.

Awesome! I had a KZ1100 bagger with the Vetter faring, CB, cassette radio, and lights everywhere…even in each antenna. Fun bike to ride down A1A when I got off my shift at Patrick AFB, FL.

That Old Girl really is Immaculate . Wow . They do indeed have a TORQUEY Engine . A consummate Mile Muncher from another era . I owned one , over here in Australia , in the mid 80's . Interesting Security feature on those . That Keyhole LHS near the Foot-peg locks the Centre-stand in the DOWN Position . A GREAT IDEA on a Heavy Bike . I love your work there . Proper respect for the Beautiful Bikes of yesteryear , that led us to where things are now . P.S. That Z-fighter is one Very Sick Restomod .

P . S : The Z-1100 A-2 ( local nomenclature ) that I owned was ALMOST the same Colour Scheme . Slightly Darker , and Metallic .

Bought one new in '82. Drove it up and down the east coast from Miami to Central New York. Drove the Blue Ridge Parkway. Loved that bike. Drove it until '89 and my wife made me sell it before we moved. Miss it every day.

Beautiful motorcycle, nice to own and ride something all original. Understanding and caring owners Make Way for nice rides. I thought I heard a little bit of slap from the starter when you started it, still can't complain about a nice piece of work like that, even if it needed a little bit of elbow grease to shine it up!!

Gorgeous Candy Apple Red Beast of a KZ. I loved when you cracked down on the throttle, and the bike started going sideways. 😂😂....Takes alot of skill to do that, with that much power. Diamond Girl was by Stevie B. He also sang an amazing song, Springtime Love. His music ruled the dance clubs back then. Those were the days, Brother. I wish Jr would have been able to experience those years. He would have loved them. ML&R

@@jimbilton1956 And a rear disc in '82 is very nice.
@jimbilton1956 Жыл бұрын
@@angrytater2456 A rear disc is indeed nice. I bought a new Yamaha XS1100 in 1978. It was the bike of my dreams - four cylinders, shaft drive, three disc brakes, superb switch gear, levers, bars, big indicators and headlamp, power packed styling. I would love to compare the KZ1100 to the XS1100.
@angrytater2456 Жыл бұрын
@@jimbilton1956 The Japanese companies were really pushing themselves during that period. It was an arms race. What happened to that Yama?
@jimbilton1956 Жыл бұрын
@@angrytater2456 Well, believe it or not, eight months after I collected it from the dealer, I had the engine out of the frame, and the bike stripped to the bare bones. The reason? The thin paint finish on the frame was already allowing rust to form on the welds. So I powder coated it, and rebuilt using high grade stainless and chromed bolts and nuts. The bike was fabulous. What an engine! I rode to Switzerland in 1982. Then, in the late 1990's, I was dating a girl, needed money to take her to nice places, sold the bike - for too low a price! A few years later, I saw it advertised at a specialist classic bike dealer - for £10,000 ! I regret selling it. The girl has gone too. I bought a KZ1300A4 ( always wanted one) to restore a few years ago. Haven't begun yet - don't have a garage to work in!

Those KZ engines only had one drawback. Crankshaft would need welded up if run hard. Had CSR 1000 that had to have welded up by Falicon racing back in early 90's. Real runners though.
