A few years ago, out at the river, I neko rigged a micro craw, and had a smallie key in on it. Caught that guy five times. Same fish. He stuck around each time, and I was more than happy to catch him again and again. Craziest thing I've ever seen.

Hey Matt, I think you would like the products from Mule Fishing Supply Co., a small independent lure company out of the Grand Rapids, Michigan, area. They make durable Elaztech-type soft plastics in a variety of styles. They also make different styles of finesse Ned-style jigs. I know the owner, Ethan. He is a great guy who makes quality tackle.👍🏻🙌🏻

I've been saying it for a long time but the pressure has been pushing the sport in the finesse direction for a long time. I always say look at Japan first. They're always ahead of us for the most part in finesse bass fishing. It's not a coincidence that you catch bass crappie fishing with those small plastics and good ones at that. I love finesse/micro finesse.

It works I’ve already been introducing on days when it’s tough to get bit. Unfortunately it’s only available in very few colors. Hopefully they will have more colors out soon. Yes your correct I’ve caught all spots on it which are predominant species in the lakes I fish

Looks like a leach! I’ll tell you leaches are like pure crack infused candy for smallmouth and I’ll go out on a limb and say it is one of the most overlooked forage that no one who fishes for bass either doesn’t recognize or talk about if they’ve realized it. I realized it when I was a hardcore walleye fisherman 25 years ago.

I’ve cut down baits to about 2 inches. The purportions weren’t exactly right, but the fish didn’t care. Think this will be great for triggering fish that won’t commit to bigger targets. Thanks for letting people know about it!

You'll have to weed thru all the other critters. Don't ask me how but last year a caught a bluegill on a five inch dropshot, hooked in the mouth. The bait was as big as it was. But yes I've used some pretty small baits, 1.5" craws, 1" grubs, not forgetting my rocket shad. They're not a sure thing but when the bite is tough I'm all for giving them a try! You'll want your light action though. Try that Rebel Wee Craw also, I'll use it on those long shallow points. Beware they take crappie too. If you ever go trout fishing try all the above also.
@richardbossman98752 жыл бұрын
Berkley used to make a 1” power craw that was awesome on a 1/32nd head, they are out of production as far as I know but between those and the old school Yozuri pin minnow I could always get bite no matter the weather or conditions.

Wonder if it will work for Crappie? I stocked 2.5 acre pond with Bass, Cats, & Crappie 26 years ago and did not fish for all those years. Recently retired and discovered the Crappie have taken over. No Bass left. Started looking into the situation and it appears to be a common problem in smaller bodies of water. Will have to Rotenone the whole damn thing at some point and restock for blue gill, red ear, cats and bass. No crappie although I do think they are very good for eating.
@MattStefanFishing2 жыл бұрын
im surprised the crappie ran everything off
@marktapley75712 жыл бұрын
@@MattStefanFishing The pond experts tell me that the black crappie reproduce ap. ten times as many fry as the bass and so they out compete them. Also I failed to have structure in pond so once minnows have to go deeper in colder weather they get eaten. Cat fish also have to have cave like structure to spawn in so I have now cut drums length ways with pvc weights. They say never put both bass and crappie in small ponds and the only way to correct the problem now is to start over. Maybe this info. will help others. The fish farm outfits don’t tell you this of course because they want to sell you more fish.

Ultra ultra small jigs will get the job done better bc of tail action, fishy profile, and ability to swallow due thinness, but who the heck am I? I use trout gear for this technique. Ned and ultra finessy jigs are about the same unless they float. You can always cut a floating worm. When I tell you I do this at the highest level, trust me. Think bigger by thinking outside the box.
