So I have now used this unit in 2 BatReps now and it has been very very durable! In one game they took the entire shooting and combat of a 10man grey knight terminator blob which had character support. But in both games they almost did no damage. So they are a basically a plug and play mega speed bump for any Imperium list. It might not work for every army, but I think for some factions it can be a very potent tool at their disposal :)

I think the best part of running an inquisitor and henchman is that they're so incredibly proxy-able that you can go hogwild with the kitbashing and make a really unique and characterful addition to your army... AND you can run it with ANY Imperium force you have!

I've been running eisenhorn in a scions list and he's amazing if dominate will goes off. Just wish Ciaphus Cain had a model and rules as his books are just as good as eisenhorn's

I think the Rogue Trader Entourage is also overlooked! You get infiltrate for the unit and can redeploy d3 battleline units!

My Guard force is RT themed, and even then I have a hard time justifying the Rogue Trader killteam, as cool as it is. Its really expensive for what you get. I like the redeploy, but I could get that and CP by arranging the Starstriders in a cool diorama on an 80mm base and using it as proxy for Lord Horseyman. Also my ally slots are full of "Arbites" so I can field my shotgun boys after Engineers got legended.

I ran it a few times. It's kinda fun.... but ultimately a 200 pt unit that past turn one has a handful of power weapons and dies easily to boltguns

The inquisitorial henchmen truly are the soupstone of units. The basic 40-point unit is dirt cheap and has its uses, but then you can keep adding stuff to it as you need or until you reach the full 16-man powerhouse. Even if most are specialists, pretty much all the inquisitors that can join them improve the unit significantly

Eisenhorn +10 acolytes + Jokaero + Daemonhost = 65+120 less than a krieg+marshal 130+60 You get 4 more wounds, a lot more damage, 5+ inv -1 to wound In Exchange of 5+ FNP + D3 wounds x turn I haven't run the math yet, but It might be a good trade

Considering that you can stick a regimental enginseer on to a kreig block to give it a bunch of extra wounds and heavy weapons all with the FNP how does that change the math?

I was convinced before. All of my lists have an Inquisitorial theme. Ordo Hereticus with my Sisters, Ordo Malleus with my future Grey Knights, Ordo Xenos with my Custodes (and maybe soon my Guardsmen?).

225pts, cheap ? If you want cheap, the Voidmens at 50pts, OC 2 is better than a 40pts henchmen without inquisitor. To be effective, an Henchmen unit needs an Inquisitor and at least a mystic. Not so cheep anymore.

I will likely end up using a pair of henchmen blobs as frontliners in my Scion list with Eisenhorn and Coteaz leading them. They looked pretty good to me as well.

It’s less crucial to Guard than other imperial armies due to how common Lord Solar is. But Inquisitor Coteaz backed up by a mid size squad of henchmen (4 acolytes and 1 each of the rest, for a total of 155 points including Coteaz) is a surprisingly durable unit for screening your backfield, and more importantly, it’s potentially a great CP farm. Lots of imperial armies don’t have easy access to CP generation, so this is definitely a hidden gem for them.

Also if an inquisitor is leading a unit of henchmen they also get 5+ feel no pain to mortal wounds... damn this is getting better eveytime I look at it.

I'd been meaning to do one of these just for the hell of it after being one of the 6 people in the UK who actually got a copy of Ashes of Faith. Gonna use Delaque bodies to get the extra henchmen out of the kit and got an idea to use parts from a penitent engine and kataphron battle servitor to make a Daemonhost.

Should try out Imperial Navy Breachers + Rogue Trader entourage. 4+++ and a few models with 4++ makes them surprisingly tanky. Infiltrators and a redeploy as well.

Is it legal to run in a turnoments? GW doesn't sell the demon host anymore and you need to buy an additional kill teame box just to use it in a kill teame game. Would love to run it but am not sure how without proxy.

Mordian must be a psyker…I was just talking about this unit with a buddy who thought they were garbage and I disagreed because they actually seem quite good!
