What amazes me is the growing trend on KZbin, that seatbelts are not needed once you leave the bitumen. You don't have to look far to see examples of this. They connect the buckles and sit on top, so the alarm doesn't work. This Video is a classic example of why tracks are being closed for good.

This act of brazen, moronic stupidity makes my blood boil - both the littering and the driving standards. I see behaviour like this all of the time here in the UK on our so-called "green lanes" (which are unsurfaced public roads to those overseas) to the point I'm convinced it's the majority here and not the minority who behave like this. I'd say we should be educating these people but in my experience they don't want to be educated, and would carry on regardless. As for the alcohol, it should never be mixed with operating a vehicle of any sort. People get killed through drinking and driving, and I'm sure many of us know, or are aware of, at least one person affected by someone driving in an impaired condition.

Where I have seen this kind of thing happen is all to often when a guy sees someone ahead make it up the obstacle with what the considers a lesser rig and/or lessor driver. That makes them berserk if they can't make it over the obstacle as well. Sometimes the person ahead of you had good luck, or are simply a better driver. You can't make that have you get frustrated. First time I've seen this full video but I have seen clips of the roll over numerous times. All I can say is this video epitomises everything wrong with the 4wd community. The alcohol, the reckless driving even right down to the footware. I'm fine with people wanting to do hard tracks but the whole careless attitude not just for the vehicle but the environment. Everything we see in this video is what I hate seeing among the 4wd community. Sadly there seems to be a growing number like this and it will give National Parks, Forestry, whoever all the reason they want to close tracks, camps etc. Not to mention the rubbish left behind. God knows how many ton of rubbish we pulled out of the bush today for Clean Up Australia Day but there was heaps and it was just a small area we worked on.

When I first got into the offroad scene pre-covid, I always struggled in making 'quality' mates my age. Never wanted to send it, get on the drinks, and roll vehicles, yet everytime a 'meet' is organised it turns out similar to this scenario; ego, adrenaline and right foot - not interested in seeing someone lose a limb. Need more 4WD Clubs focused on young folk, lead by experienced role models. I'm also inclined to say that if you publish videos like this, which does promote the act to others, you should face fines for littering, drinking while operating a vehicle, and reckless driving - possibly loss of license, if this was a commodore in suburbia it would go that way. It's one thing to have an accident, it's another when it's clear arrogance and negligence.

They obviously don't care about the vehicle, hence the aggressive driving. They went there to film an 4X4 action scene for their channel and not to enjoy nature/scenery. It's the same scene here in NZ and are tracks are getting closed one after another.

Not sure if it’s the same is Australia. But 1 issue here in the UK, assisted from the general disregard for any kind of Road regulations is that literally anyone can go and buy a 4wd (old discovery’s being popular) jack them up but aggressive boots on and go drive. The 4wd’s 9 times from 10 aren’t road worthy and the drivers are just out to get muddy with to regard for the country side, other users of the country side and in many cases the farm land that they ruin.

These are a good example of the mad buggers who get all the tracks closed. If you can't crawl up a hill it's pretty easy, just get the winch out and pull up it. I have never actually needed to use my winch in over 10 years of 4WDing but that is my philosophy for any situation. The driving we see here, especially on muddy tracks, just wrecks the tracks and makes them impassable. I have seen many tracks go from easy if you use your brain to rutted goat tracks in just a couple of months because drivers think that the only answer is more right foot. Good advertisement for old Patrols though, even these idiots can't break it until it goes on it's roof.

I am new to the 4x4 community so it is very valuable with these do and don´t videos. I think the thing that shocked me the most here is that even after the rollover, the guys did not even put down the cans when they went down to check whether the driver was still alive. Clearly show their priorities. I got the feeling they had not the slightest understanding of the seriousness of the situation.

Matt, what was the Tinnie:rollover ratio? Dog seemed more concerned about the situation then the "Mates". We see this behaviour in State and Federal parks in the US as well. More often then not, they'll abandon the vehicle for someone else to cleanup. Especially if it's stolen.

Greetings from arnhemland! the points you've put out there is quite right, especially the seat belt part. I'll never forget when I was 17 and I was 4wding with a few mates. I was in my mates troopy riding passenger (leaf sprung front and rear) went up a steep hill and he gave a bit too much right foot, started to hop and it tipped to its left, (no seatbelt) and if it wasn't for my mate that grabbed me at the last minute as it tipped to the side I would've fell through and got crushed to death. Luckily it didn't roll down the hill as the trees stopped it from going any further. 25 years old now and looking back to it, made me realise why seatbelt is everything whether 4wding or not. Luckily it was a few of us, we pushed it back on all fours and kept going that day! Troopy is still kicking till now 👍

Totally agree Matt, we watched this video on YT a few weeks back and came up with many of the same conclusions. The worst parts are lack or respect for safety, lack of respect for the vehicle, and totally lack of respect for the National Park. We are so lucky in Aus that we can access NPs in our 4x4s, but this sort of behaviour will get more tracks and parks closed, some of the authorities are just waiting for this sort of driving (and evidence) as an excuse to close off tracks and whole areas of our bush.

First thing i noticed was his tire pressure, If you are running 38 PSI on terrain like this you might as well have 20 inch alloys and low profile tires for all the good the 12 inch steelies and 35's will do you. And no i don't know hes at 38PSI but from the lack of deformation they have at least 3 times more air in them than they should.

I agree with you about the time and place if they want to wreck a car. Sitting there spinning tyres digging holes just causes the owners to close more tracks on us. These people will cry the most when tracks are closed. Now I do watch Boofs channel and enjoy it but and the extreme things they do but destroying tracks is what they should stop for the benefit of everyone and the hobbie they/we enjoy so much

The “leave no trace” mantra should be applied to trails as well as camp sites. If your car and driver are not capable of getting up a track without excessive wheel spin then turn around and go somewhere else. These guys couldn’t have caused more damage unless they brought a digger! I can only imagine how they leave their camp sites.
@markelliott6105
@markelliott6105 9 ай бұрын
@@FallingFlying. I was talking about the track damage, not the litter so I was drawing a parallel with “leave” no trace as it is normally used. I get your point with bulldozers though. Also tarmac buster bombs, they really leave holes. But the track hasn’t been bombed and I doubt a bulldozer has been through since the track was laid, so soft car tyres and the following erosion is pretty much the problem here.

Hi Matt, Just picked up your video this week... algorithms! Your message is quite on the money in many respects, if anything, rather gentle. I am a retired WA cop. I spent time in traffic and also a police prosecutor in Court. State jurisdictions vary, but generally align in many aspects. To the point - a "road" for the purposes of the RTA, is anywhere used by vehicles "open to and used by the public". Simply put, that young driver is in peril of police intervention and facing criminal charges. Yes - he can be charged for failing to wear a seatbelt, reckless driving and so on. Luckily no injury / death = prison time. I can chase up the transcripts and citations if you would are interested in delving further on the topic. Great reaction video👍
