I will say this: trousers as giftwrapping make for quite the conversation piece. Though for next time, a couple suggestions I have: One could use aluminum/tin foil if no paper is available. If that ain't an option, one could try a blanket or towel. But of course, clean trousers are more fun.

Cookie butter filled mochi/daifuku is great, as we just found out last month. Red bean paste is the best imo, but cheap man's peanut butter or nutella filled ones are classic, and nice when you are dead exhausted but really want to make a simple yummy thing. Making simplified daifuku is really easy once you've done the process enough times. and know how big you should make them lol, I made them way too big my first time.

Red Bean paste is definitely an acquired taste. I never enjoyed it growing up, and it was a common filling/topping in Asian pastries and desserts. After working at a cafe and trying some really fresh red bean paste in Japan, I can say it has grown on me. There is this vanilla ice cream/red bean paste dessert thing and I only used to eat the vanilla side!

I will admit that yeah it is something that people would need to get accustomed to, I personally love asian cuisine but to me I never gained a taste for their desserts though I think I've at least got a taste for that one dessert which is like mini mochi boiled into a "soup" (from what I remember it was just boiled water with some of the flavor imbued from the ingridients)
