Is Trove even worth playing in 2024?

Was just talking to my buddies about playing this again I don’t know if our server is still there but we had howls floating castle we made. It’s been years since we’ve played but we’re hitting game boredom and I really missed this one.

if you haven't played in a while you will have plenty to do. And, there is a new Update coming which by the looks of it will bring, imo, mid and end- game players a little closer in terms of damage. 🤔Howls Floating Castle ? That sounds interesting. Please let me know if you have access to it and if you're on Xbox I'd be really interested in taking a look at it.

😅 as a person who has played this game for far too many years I can definitely empathize with you. The grind is insane, mostly due to the games brilliant use of RNG over RNG, time-gated resources,.... thats another video 🤣😉. I get you, the game can be incredibly frustrating but why do you feel its not worth playing? 3 Reasons, go. 1: ? 2: ? 3: ?

@@itscosmicdude 1. Would be the servers unless I’m playing at nighttime like 12am onwards it’s upto chance if the servers aren’t laggy, 2. Would be laziness from devs, feel like there hasn’t been too many updates that ADD to the game, I’m hopefully for the c4 gear though. To add on with the lazy claim, so many duplication glitches to the point the economy is fucked, and all they did was add market place tax. Which only hurts the ppl who didn’t glitch IMO, which leads to 3. There is almost no point in new players joining trove, since everything is ridiculously priced it’ll make them not wanna play, meaning the game is only dying out, all this said I still enjoy trove and still wanna play but there’s not much for me to do anymore

Yeah the game can be laggy at times to the point of it being unplayable in moments. But, dare I say it, it used to be worst. Now wait a second dude you will not call the devs lazy, I will not stand for. Lazy no, useless kinda. The game has always had so much potential, and admittedly, for every step in the right direction, they take two in the wrong direction. That said, its not so much the amount of updates as much as the quality of them that can be frustrating. They put stuff pretty much on a monthly basis but its not always the best, in fact i would say its usually lacking imagination and effort. I'll assume you're on pc as these duplication glitches are an issue on that platform. And, the "Tax" update was a doozie (*wink, wink*) Ok, it was absolutely, fabulously, horrible, and thats putting it lightly. But didn't they make a comeback with the Titles...🤔 wait... The Potions and ....🤮🤮 The point is they drop updates. Frequently. ...and its Free. You know i'm joking. You bring up valid points. I wouldn't insult you by trying to tell you that what you experience is off, but... maybe, just maybe, take a break from it. Just a little one. See the game through fresh eyes. You mention 3 things that you dislike, many do, I do too, but there must be something you like. Or are you simply going through the motions just because you've invested so much time in it? 😞 I hope not. 😶‍🌫 Take a break. Come back. Kick butt. Talk smack.

@@itscosmicdude firstly should be noted i dont play trove religiously. i played maybe 3 hours a week if that. there is legit nothing for me to besides mastery based things. i played through the time the lag was unbearable, but just because its better doesnt mean it shouldnt be talked about when its still awful. i enjoy grindy games which is why i played trove in the first place, i dont mind the updates that require alot of game time to complete, i dislike updates that take a while to come with little to content. if it took a long time BUT there was plently of content within the update i would be happy with that to me it doesnt matter if updates are being pumped out if they dont offer the player anything, something. i can only hope this gear update, is leading to bigger updates in the future, a new uber, or even a new ''world'' like how topside/geode was first introduced

idk man i just came back to it on pc from ps4, the new content got me addicted to it and in about a week i reached 20k pr, also the market place isnt a bad situation for me im getting everything i want even if it's not needed. (also yes i agree the servers are shit)@@Xyrez

For ppl that haven't grinded daily for years it definitely is still worth playing. The problem is some ppl hardcore grinded this small scale indie MMO as if it was fkn World of Warcraft and now they have everything and just sit whining about there being nothing to do. Those ppl should try touching grass, or at least a different game.

what made this game special was the first few years when dungeons and most items were player created, instead of leaning into that awesome concept they instead tried to go big time with a bunch of stupid themepark MMO ideas and ripoffs, the original vision was so good and could work so well, i would love to be making trove dungeons and hats right now

Great video and background musiceI just started playing this game and easily on my top 10 to 20 of all time. I love the updates and the MMO experience. I still am terrible at the game and have a lot to learn as I have little clue what I am doing!

@@WillyEast yeah there's no cross-play and Xbox servers are down, for now i guess. But.... Thats ok, there are plenty of Trove content creators that put out plenty of "how-to's" Check them all out. You are bound to find one you can connect to/with. And of course you can always ask me for information through the comments section. I wish I could be of more help. Trove is most boring and overwhelming game that i ever played. No introduction, countless types of resources, number of materials required for crafting mounts etc. is just mind blowing, especially when you convert it to required hours and few actives that you don't even know if they are worth doing since game says you nothing about rewards from it. All of this "pleasure" for some voxel mount, title or whatever in game on life support with 1,5k playerbase. Dish washing is more rewarding. Ah, and yes - barely readable UI and lack of parties.

GG! Getting everything at any given time is suppa-duppa difficult and tbh, almost impossible as there is almost always something added. That was a goal of mine some time ago but once Delves were introduced, with all the Mounts/Allies/Mementos, I gave up on that goal because I simply don't like Delves. Not in its current state. So.... @@redwoulf1994 sup dude, some ppl really dislike Delves and just the thought of them may trigger them. The Delves concept is great but the implementation is horrible. The devs don't play the game and don't consider player feedback. Anyway, that's another conversation/video. I'm glad you found some good in the video and appreciate your comment.

🤔 what do you mean? The only console that has missed the last 3-4 Events is the Xbox. The only the Switch, PS4, Xbox are missing is the upcoming Gear-Up update which should be out in the Summer.
