Speaking of DPM, there is one thing to add. It's lower than Buffalo's, true, but nose guns only DPM is higher than Buffalo's nose gun only DPM.

Yeah i don't know if I missed it but I was curious about the Tulsa/Buffalo comparison (rather than with DM/Salem) since they are both dealing with the T9 MM that can be rough. Interesting about the DPM, I like Buffalo for T9 ranked where the MM doesn't screw you and tools are useful, but I"m curious what PQ's take is on this comparison.

I have the Tulsa and I have found that it does very well in Ranked, Brawls and Airship Escort. In these game modes it´s good to have a Tier 9 Des Moines. Battles, Random Battles not so much.

I got this thing to farm things for missions in Co-Op since you have decent DPM to take out DDs and other Cruisers, plus utility whenever there are 1 or 2 bots left that you end up having to chase after. It's also done well in Asymmetric, though you have to be very careful not to get cross-fired by BBs. Islands are your friends. Honestly, once I started using it there I actually got secondaries on it instead of Aiming Systems since they give you something like 8kms and if you're defending the turrets will help reset any bots that get into the cap (all you need is a few lucks hits) when you're trying to deal with other ships on your flank. Its biggest problem is that, even with rudder-mod, you're not as nimble as IJN Cruisers and you're always at a disadvantage from the lack or torps. With how the game is nowadays, it's not even just Cruisers anymore, you have Pommerns, Daisens, Odins, Schlieffens or any of the RN Battlecruisers running around that can randomly drop torps on you if you try to play at close range.

You should do a vid in Buffalo. I think you’ll find that the DPM is a little irrelevant because of how much broadside the Buffalo has to show to use all of its guns. Most of the time in Buffalo you’re only using your front turrets where it becomes quite mediocre.

I really like my Tulsa. I was using it range mod but switched to reload which is much better. Shells are way too floaty at distance.

I've finally acquired all the tier10 coal ships (that I want anyway) so I'm starting on the tier 9 coal ships. Had a really hard time choosing between the Iwami and Tulsa but decided on Iwami because I have more US cruisers than brawling Japanese Battleships. Tulsa is definitely next though.

If Tulsa was a T8 it would be a great ship, nothing broken because you would be losing slot 6, but would be a lot better in comparison to other ships around it's tier. It could maybe also use a slight reload nerf. As she stands she's just kind of weak, and not really worth the coal. As a T9 there is just to much competition that's flat out better than her, and even some T8s I'd rather use than Tulsa. Cleveland comes to mind for example, more DPM with better concealment. Baltimore for a 10km stealth radar, sure it doesn't last as long but being able to know if you're spotted you can radar what is spotting you is SUCH a powerful tool, and while Balti might have less DPM her damage output isn't bad ether, it should also be noted there isn't a huge difference in DPM between Balti and Tulsa. Alternatively Tulsa could be given a 0.8 second boost to her reload rate. That would give her a DPM boost to actually be on par with a lot of T9 ships and might make her worth using.

Wound up trading my Tulsa in back when the trade-in event was occurring this past summer, swapped her out for Kidd. Been meaning to pick her back up, and then the newest devblog that just released saying they would be giving her DD dispersion doubles that want!

So... my tyical cruiser build, rudder mods (1 and 2 for stupid fast rudders) and commander stealth skill. Basically stealth is nice, but you are going to get shot sooner or later and being able to shift to angle quickly is really nice.

@-br4m- 4K resolution, everything at maximum. Do not use fsr 1.0 or fxaa. Personally don’t use msaa not because it’s bad but taa does a similar job for much less performance hit.

I remember I was quite excited for Tulsa when it was announced, but when it came out it was a disappointment. The only thing it's got over Buffalo is concealment, on everything else it loses out. Buffalo has pretty good firing angles too so she can bring all 12 guns to bear in relative safety. Buffalo's broadside alpha is huge, better range -AND she gets a spotter place - better health, better radar, better dpm, there really isn't much to choose between. Tulsa presents like a T9 Des Moines but she really isn't even close.

I just got the Tulsa. It's pretty decent. The Demoins feel at t9 is verry nice, especially if your top tear.😊

Buffalo's guns are awesome, the problem is its armour/citadel so you only get to use 1/2 of it most of the time but if you get the chance to use all 12 guns then it's amazing. I don't have Tulsa but it looks like you could use 2/3 of the guns most of the time. US Cruisers have always had great AP.

Tulsa needs a major buff, it's under gunned, has a glass broadside and no torps, it's only "ok" in co-ops, compare it to a buffalo which is the same Tier = no contest.

I feel like Tulsa is very much a “play the objective” style cruiser, whereas Salem, with the gimped radar ends up being more of a “dpm” style. Des Moines has the luxury of being both and is the best of the 3 in my opinion.

Tulsa is such a sweat festival... it has the tools, but you absolutely notice the lack of barrels. It really needs a small reload buff. I believe it had a shorter reload in early testing, it needs to come back. The lack of barrels makes this ship easy to push in either a DD or a BB, or anything with torps really. I really want to love Tulsa, but every game is try harding because you just cannot get damage output... radar that DD, can damage, but not kill. It really needs the tiniest of buffs to come into it's own. EDIT: LOL I wrote this before the Benson footage, which is PRECISELY the Tulsa experience...

It kinda depends, Tulsa is one of the best T9 cruisers for small scale battles like ranked, It wins 1v1 against Alaska, and has higher Dpm than buffalo if it's a nose in gun fight. if you want a solid American cruiser for ranked Tulsa is a good choice, if your looking for something to play in randoms then just play buffalo.

hey pq so you keep saying t9 (tulsa,agir,jean bart, etc)makes more credits then t10 (moskva,yoshino,lushun,etc)yet the t10 have a +50% bonus package while the t9 have a +10% i cant imagine shooting up tiers gives a +40% bonus so am i missing somthing ?

T9 premiums and below get hidden credit multipliers for being 'premium' ships, t10 'special' ships don't have this.

When you are bottom-tiered to a boring island sit with no targets coming or likely to come, just SEND IT!. You'll die, but you get to roll the dice in the matchmaker much earlier. You might say "I'm hurting my team", but come on... you don't really believe you were going to help. The most you can do is autopilot to a corner and get a coffee. Buffalo has better DPM, when firing all 4 turrets. Forward only the Tulsa has better DPM. So the Tulsa can angle better than the Buffalo without sacrificing her firepower like the Buffalo.
