first time coming acorss the podcast and so happy to hear you guys discussing palestine and the insidious nature of western coloniser collectives. i will be tuning in from now on. fyi about kobe bryant, he was estranged from his parents for a long time when he was alive, and he even took them to court because they tried to sell his memorabilia without his permission. so that's why his wife has maintained the distance from them after his death. therefore this is different from twitch's situation.

As a Black woman, I want to express how disheartening it is to see the inability of some Black people to compartmentalize when it comes to interracial relationships. This man tragically committed suicide, likely due to unresolved trauma from his past. It seems he lacked close ties to his family-perhaps the same family that failed to protect him and now claims to be safeguarding his legacy while complaining about having to sign NDAs. This mirrors the tendency in many Black families to keep abuse hidden behind closed doors. By taking his own life, he abandoned his wife and children. Whether writing a memoir is seen as a “money grab” or not, she is now left to raise their children alone. If he didn’t want his diaries to be shared, he could have destroyed them. Let’s take a step back and imagine this situation as involving any married couple-Black, white, or otherwise-where one partner tragically ended their life due to unresolved trauma. The surviving spouse is left to cope in their own way. Instead of judgment, we should offer compassion and understanding for the complexities of their grief and survival.

What an excellent summary. Now I will say this, his widow seems to be on some BS. However, I hate this thing that BW do when hearing this type of situation. You hear comments like, “Well that was his preference”, “That’s who he chose to be his wife” or “this is not my fight” - how inhumane. It reminds me of the Christian Obumseli and Courtney Clenney case. Rather than think of the tragic circumstances of a young man losing his life, his family losing a son, brother etc, BW were in the comments leaving nasty messages along the lines of, “well he chose her” how utterly distasteful. BM will do it too in retaliation if similar circumstances occur, however I find it happens more when the situation includes a BM dating outside of his race. To your point about Twitch’s family, we don’t know these people either, we don’t know what kind of relationship they had. We don’t know if they were constantly reaching out for money from Twitch. Just look at the recent Clarissa Shields interview where she details how how family have switched on her after doing so much for them. Families are not perfect, it’s just what we’re born into.

Exactly!! However jealousy and bitterness is what is making BW act this way. It’s got nothing to do with BW!!

Regarding Twitch with this new information, I think we do have to care because there is something so wrong in the situation and the information. I understand people grieve in different ways but the wife (a lose term at this point) is making no sense of a person who has lost a loved person. The second day of his death you take his name from yours, you sell up the house, you make everyone sign an NDA. To me something wrong...she does not realize Twitch made her relevant not the other way round. it makes me question his death. Remember his toxicology came back with nothing....what drug addict or alcoholic things like that stay in your blood and hair for 6 months. ...You were married for over 10 years and you never knew he was depressed (she said introvert at home) not the same thing, and you never knew he was abused as a child, what sort of wife are you. Sorry not saying he did not or that cannot happen but because of how she is presenting herself and him to the world I will not believe that until she shows journals in his handwriting and his friends say that's his handwriting. Although if it is true it was for him to say and if he did not you keep his privacy. If you remember he did a live the day before he unalived himself and was emotional about the I think it was George Floyd if not unfortunately and black person death. People who are his friends and not gossipers are coming out and admonishing her. I know it seems like I am a Twitch fan but I am not, I knew he was what he did, but once I knew who his partner was I was disinterested if I am honest, however there is just something so wrong in this situation, if I was the family I would talk about a private investigator into his death.

Realistically, you can’t marry a nonblack woman and expect her to behave like a black woman. His wife is being true to her culture. I can confidently say that a black woman wouldn’t do what Twitch’s widow is doing, because it would be totally alien to black culture. A white woman on the other hand……notice that no white people are criticising her actions. It’s a cultural thing. You can get along with other cultures, but it’s unrealistic to think that you can become them or that they will become like the women of your community when you marry them. These things unfortunately are often exposed in difficult times.

My psychic is telling me that the order for the level of attention towards the Gaza war, from most to least is: Farah AK Nana Sade Sade has been detached I can tell😅 Not that it’s bad it’s just an observation. Everyone deeply care about different things

Why do you care? It’s between his family ( if they have an issue with it) and his wife. You lot are bitter he married a WW.

@ To you it might not because you are used to fighting for men especially men that don’t want you. It’s up to his family to take offend with her, it’s not random BW problem.
