Yes, it is a must for every Muslims to be educated so that he can never be swayed with this topic, but, how about those first time audience like me who really loves to listen and enjoy learning to your lectures. If it were not because I am an educated Muslim in our religion, I will be discourage by the excessive use of "sunni" term. This could be annoying for others especially those who are interested in embracing Islam but still learning the deen.

if we truly supported and loved Ali rA than we would hate the people that tried to kill him or his family .. I have never herd Ali rA Name in my masjid or any of his families name or there virtues. So the people who stood by Ali rA in the wars and stood by his family Hassan and Hussain rA are the true lovers and followers of Ali rA not the people now that love the people who harm them.

Really? Do they not praise Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Ali, Hamza Asad, Hasan and Hussain RA during your khutbas on Friday?

@@ArdoBlueMoon nope never they only mention the Sahaba sometimes but never Ali rA and his family never herd Fatima rA name or Hassan or Hussain masjids near me .. we have masjids named after scholars that were born way after prophets shahaba Ah lul baith but we never have masjids named after Ah lul baith makes no sense to me

Adjective or noun, as a Daee, I think it must be avoided so that non-Muslims or the "light practicing" Muslims will not have more confusion regarding this sensitive topic. I admire you Sheikh but I hope you can be the likes of Mufti Menk and Dr. Zakir which avoided this term totally to avoid further the division of the ummah. You have to understand that a lot of people listen to you and those people are not equally educated on this topic.
@tayyabshahzad6883 жыл бұрын
When the Companions of the Prophet (s.a.w.) themselves (e.g. Ibn Abbas (r.a.)) used this term, why do you have a problem with it? Those who are not following the Sunnah of the Prophet (s.a.w.) and the Companions, like Dr. Zakir Naik and Mufti Menk, should be rebuked and not vice versa. The Prophet (s.a.w.) predicted that his Ummah will split up into 73 sects and of those the majority of the Ummah are on the right path and should be followed. The majority of the Ummah is Sunni also known as Ahl us sunnah wa 'ljamaa'ah. We're not supposed to dissent from the majority opinion of Muslims, the Qur'an forbids us to do that, 'And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided.' (Surah Aal-Imran 3: 103)
@tayyabshahzad6883 жыл бұрын
Even though I agree that this term can sometimes be misused to cause division in the Ummah, we should know that by calling ourselves Sunni we are nevertheless, following the Sunnah of the Prophet (s.a.w.) and the Companions and are actually following the commands of the Qur'an and the Prophet (s.a.w.), namely agreeing with the majority of the Muslim Ummah, and therefore, not defying them.
@haxificality3 жыл бұрын
correct brother, we are not allowed to be divided, and it is in the Qur'an also that Allah told us we are "Muslims". ahlus sunna wal jamaa or sunni, we must choose just to be called muslims because it is Allah's choice.
@tayyabshahzad6883 жыл бұрын
@@haxificality True. I really hate it when Muslims, who claim to be from ahl us sunnah wa 'ljamaa'ah, are intolerant of other interpretations of Islam and label the Muslims who follow those interpretations Non-Muslim. May Allah allow Muslims to be tolerant of each others beliefs and may He bring about unity and brotherly love amongst the Muslims as He had during the times of the Prophet (s.a.w.) and his Companions. Ameen!
