I was accepted to a doctoray stay at UT Austin, I am researcher at Columbia Univeristy and a PhD Candidate at University of São Paulo. I am excited to live there in Austin, but I don't know anyone there and I don't know how I will rent a dorm there.

Perhaps you needed some confirmation you're making the right choice. I can only talk about my personal experience, but I really did love it there. There are a lot of opportunities and resources if you know how to use them, as well as a lot of networking opportunities. Besides, it's one of the best (and in my opinion the best) universities in Texas. Hopefully my video and this comment will take some stress away and reassure you're making the right decision:)

would you say UT Austin is good for people who wanna do pre-med but not nursing?
@yana_bee Жыл бұрын
Oh yes, definitely! I was pre-med myself. There are plenty of student organizations dedicated to it, I was part of AMSA, and they really help you to navigate the process! Plus, you get to make friends:) And since the university is in the city, you get plenty of medical opportunities to gain experience. On top of that, it's a big research university, so it will be no problem finding a research lab to work for, if that's the route you want to take. So overall, yes, it's a great choice for pre-med students! Hope that helps:)

Does it accept a three year degree?
@yana_bee11 ай бұрын
If you mean you want to get a degree in 3 years instead of 4, that's absolutely possible! I did it:) You can do it 2 ways: 1. Come in with college credits already (like from a community college) or 2. Take more than 4 classes a semester and take summer classes. They won't make you stay all 4 years if you already completed all required credits. Hope that helps!

Gross Austin has gone to hell. All the homeless and drug addicts, dirty streets, they also voted to defund the police. Crime has gone sky high. All the Californians and people from the east coast like New Jersey. Gross 🤢
