About the part where I said that you lose all your stuff when you die twice in a row, that's not actually true. But it was kinda true in my case, because I died in the water, and I'm pretty sure I came back to the exact same place and I didn't find my tombstone there, or my gear. Saw a ton of comments about this, damn. But yea, you don't lose your gear unless you're a dumbass like me. Oh and another thing. When I said that Bannerlord was polished on release, I explicitly said "for an early access title", not polished in general, chill guys lol. A polished game in general is something entirely different.
@MBJMartins3 жыл бұрын
It has happened to me and has happened to my friends who play in my server, i've even planned events around the retrieval of our lost warrior's gear, and the tombstone was there everytime, there wasn't a single time, even at sea, where the tombstone wasn't there, the tombstone floats in the ocean, so you have to serach for the red light and your name, but i've always found it, its really strange that you didn't find it (The only explanation i see is that when you went there it was misty or there was a storm and the water level hid the tombstone)

There are more complaints to be had for this game, but they are mostly quality of life. Crafting from boxes, instead of grabbing 8 wood to make arrows, auto sort items to nearby boxes, auto stack etc

weird, when my friend died in water, his tombstone literally floated, had "floatjacket" and all.
@temeria19863 жыл бұрын
@@GUNNER67akaKelt It'll leave a gravestone where you died, which also keeps floating on water (tested 2x in the ocean close to the plains). If you die twice in a row the gear from the first death will still be there. gravestones only go away if you grab all the stuff from the gravestones. Ofcourse there are bugs with that system.
@Jonas666Braem3 жыл бұрын
When my boat got destroyed by a sea monster, I saw the loot that was on board floating in the water in a crate when I passed through the same route with another boat. Maybe thats how its presented in water instead of a gravestone? Easy to miss though since its not a big crate. Also when you die before you were able to retrieve your gear, you will lose the pinpoint location of your previous death. But the gravestone is still there to pick up. Just need to memoralize well enough where you died haha.

I just started it the other day and I went and activated the first final boss while I was still at level one tech and had to defeat him him with an axe. He almost destroyed my house too. Then I out of the blue these giant greylings attacked my, no problem taking them down with my axe but then at my second house I was outside working at my next level upgrades and they snuck behind me while I was over loaded and back turned. But I learned how to break up "fine wood" early on. Then I created a new character and built a raft right away to try to do some exploring. Found giant eels off the shores of some place with what looked like dead trees and zombies. I didn't go there, I left and the eels followed quite a ways attacking my raft. I just now learned I break rocks, find minerals and advance technology. The art is amazing, using low res graphics yet with such good mechanics and rendering a stunning scenery, you soon don't notice the pixelization. Even the fish swimming around in the water is amazing, I would prefer it better if it was less creepy. Thats about all I can say.

I mean it makes sense that Items are kind of expensive, since once you craft them once, you can infinitely repair them for free (except for consumable items like arrows) For a example a piece of bronze armor cost 10 copper and 5 tin + any charcoal you use to smelt it, but once you have that piece of armor is yours forever, you just have to repair it once in a while with no material cost. Also I find it really fun to mine in this game, since even tho you can mine a a chunk of minerals and run back to your base back and forth, the most effective way to to mine is to build a small mining camp with beds and chest close by. Bring a wagon, mine the copper vein as deep as it goes which would take a couple days of mining and defending the base, once finished load everything into the wagon and carry it to your base. This makes the whole mining process for me into a fun feature rather than a chore like in many other survival games with this feature.

This is a thoroughly enjoyable game, I also prefer solo play like yourself, it works quite well this way, I haven't made it to the age of metal just yet ;o

This game on my Steam wish list for months but was curious about single player. After watching this vid, will be getting it soon. Subbed!.

Valheim is fun ish in single player, really just setting up the basics is a pain in single player me and my friends were cycling servers to help each other get set up on them but after a forge it’s pretty enjoyable.

I(solo) spent four hours terraforming a small black forest island right by a swamp and draugrs, slimes, and skeletons would attack me daily. By the end of the terraforming process i had 30 entrails, about 10 ooze, a shit ton of bone fragments as well as two full boxes of wood. I also had a troll spawn while i was in the middle of flattening an area and I had to melee the bastard with no health regen.

Worth it in single player mode? I have yet to try multiplayer, I'm having a blast of a time in singleplayer. Also, I have no friends to play with, so there's that.

I mostly play SP cause nobody wants to play with me :( however I like the idea of having a main world you work on and having others join you to help you with certain tasks. Like a summon in Dark Souls. However I’d love to have a MP server with 20-40 people of friends and their friends all building bases around the map on different islands. Creating shipping routes. Create like a role play fantasy economy server.

Thanks for this vid my friend ! I just found the game a couple days ago and have been really wanting to play, but I have no friends who want to play with me at the moment and I was scared to buy it and get bored to play alone. I have played a lot of survival games for years and kinda got tired of them because they just don't have anything new to offer and I was scared this would be the case, especially with it being in early access... I think I'm going to buy it and I hope they continue to develop the game and reach it's great potential and don't just cash in with all the hype they got.

Great video for people who consider getting it. And I don't wanna be "that guy", but I'm gonna be that guy anyway! xD The black bird is not a crow, it's a raven. And not just any raven, It's Hugin, one of Odin's ravens! Also btw if you die again you don't lose your stuff forever, it just doesn't mark the location of you both your deaths, only your most recent one. So it can be a good idea to mark where you died on your map.

Not only is it worth playing in single player. It is the only way it is at all playable. With friends its a laggy mess. A near masterpiece if it were not for the lag and the combat system. "Don't try it, I have the low ground!" Hope when the game is fully released the do a polishing and a slight combat revamp.

I wish there were some NPC villages and quests :(

I believe including scripted quests is counter-intuitive to the core game design. It's all about the freedom of discovery and experimentation.

@@shinma989 I know, probably why I'm already losing interest. Great survival game tho.

YES this is whats wrong with this game. The world gets rather tedious and dull after a while. Needs NPC and cities and shops and auction houses etc etc
@Sinderance_3 жыл бұрын
@@snooze0023 That doesn't work well with the lore. You're literally a dead person trying to get into Valhalla. From what I know, there is one merchant. Game is in early access, they may add that stuff later.

It's still in very early access I'm sure they'll add plenty of good stuff!

I was pleasantly surprised by this one, played a good 15ish hours but I probably won't play it again until it's much closer to 1.0 since it does get pretty repetitive and quite a few features are going to be added that should help with that.
@TheMirandalorian3 жыл бұрын
I do agree it does get pretty repetitive, and I find that about a lot of survivals when you play solo, but I do think after future updates, it has the proper foundation to appeal to all kinds of players!

Just want to point out that you don't only drop your items on death, you lose (I think) a set percentage of your levels across the board. So heavily avoid death :)

I have been really enjoying it too! I feel its survival with purpose, love to see how small studios can make triple A look titles like they dont know how to make games! 😆

You don't lose items on a second death just the marker on your map, also you need a chimney in your house! 😄 Love your content and the world kind of reminds me of outward a game you showed me!!
@woodybarkingbrown28203 жыл бұрын
I love this game even with its mistakes. Yeah, is fully truth that the user interface don't need "the authentic one" of Valheim, but that happens even with more aspects of the game, and I hope that it will take more personality with the pass of time.

Great overview vid, this looks like a buy for sure 👍
@wiggingout463 жыл бұрын
If you die a second time before retrieving your stuff doesnt make you lose your stuff you just have to do more work to find the location since itll only show you the last death location. Lucky for me this has happened more than once and adds tension. Also its good to not take all of your weapons if you only tend to use a couple anyway

This game and Dyson Sphere Program. Two games that do Early Access right by having the game still feel somewhat complete or good enough to spend dozens of hours in.

9:20 "...If you doie again, I think you lose the stuff you dropped forever" No, you do not lose it - the stuff is still there in a "previous" (now unmarked in world map) grave. The tombstone will still be there, so it is possible to have several tombstones in the world from several "deaths". Best thing to do is - after a death, "mark" your grave so in case you die again you know where your best stuff is located.
