I think about it like this The US is 22 Trillion dollars in the hole do you think we can even afford basic healthcare?
@Marane85 жыл бұрын
Somebody still has to provide the service. More importantly, prices are maintained at unaffordable levels because of the many restrictions placed on healthcare providers. We already spend a majority of the budget on porkbarrel, and it's at the point that we're completely insolvent. Trying to treat things as "basic human rights" instead of the valuable services they are is the reason why our debt is continually mounting.
@coppersense9995 жыл бұрын
Ikr. Food, water, rent. Nothing is free! Too lazy to pay for your health, better off dead anyway, do us a favor already. Oh, except for one thing, in the case of health. If we had access to preventative care, we would require drastically less disease management, which how humanity normally functions. For example, in the wild animals don't pay for insurance OR hospital visits! Now you are gonna see a trade off with actual mortality, but as far as THAT goes, see above. I am a proponent of end of life rights too, aka don't be a drain on your family during what is a very difficult time for them. You want to drag it out, no I don't think so, there's a good corpse. All very common sense. 👍
@gracefool5 жыл бұрын
The skilled service of another person is not a right, because that makes everyone with that skill a slave, violating more fundamental human rights. Yes it may be negligent not to save a life in an emergency when you have the ability. But it can't simply be negligent to not treat someone! Thus there cannot be a right of everyone to be treated (for anything or whatever "basic healthcare" includes). It may however be a great public service, and I'm glad I live in a country with public healthcare. The healthcare industry in the US is an insane graft due to insurance. What most Americans don't realise is that their healthcare costs are grossly inflated.

Nice post. Two things I know. Be careful of a vendor who sends Amazon Ground instead of regular Amazon, when it happened to me the regular Amazon location would not accept Ground and returned the piece to the sender. Second is, if you have an item too large for Amazon Locker, like a solar panel, they’ll tell you it’s too big and you can’t use that method.

You got me curious, so I did a quick check for Amazon lockers (the only one I've ever used went away when the supermarket chain hosting it closed that location). I found 20 in my zip code, many at 7-11s, Safeways, a couple at local malls, etc. etc. I also have friends who've traveled a lot who use "mail drops" -- either individuals or businesses along their planned route who agree to receive & hold mail on their behalf for pickup as my friends pass thru that area. The key is that they need to kinda-sorta stick to a travel schedule plus remember to tell people to send mail to the right address based on where they are in their travels.

@TheMostImportantStep3 жыл бұрын
Great video! You can send via USPS by labeling it as "General Delivery: C/O [Your Name]" Hikers do this along the PCT, etc and have great luck (I've never had a problem), but I've never tried it in a larger city. Generally they'll hold packages for 2 weeks
@SensatiousHiatus3 жыл бұрын
For USPS delivery you would address it the following: Your name c/o USPS Specific Post Office’s address I used it several times while thru hiking the AT and PCT…very common, but expect a long line and the clerk can sometimes take 10-15 minutes to go find your package in the back. Maybe it’s just common along those popular long trails so some random post office in the middle of nowhere might not be as familiar with someone doing that.

My (Erin) virtual mailbox stopped offering the service at the one UPS location, so I had to move my address to a new location. This turned out to be VERY expensive, because it is my business address... So I had to pay a ridiculous amount in lawyer fees to change the address. Can't predict these things. I have a friend of mine who wants to take a new job in a small town hospital in the middle of nowhere. He talked to the hiring manager and they really hit it off. She told him there was not a lot of good rent options near by and to try to share a place in a trailer park. The hospital has 24 hour showers, discounted cafeteria and a huge secure parking lot. There is a Walmart, Anytime Fitness and retail 10 minutes away. He's thinking about selling his small car, flying over there and buying a van and sleeping in the van while he converts it on his time off. It's in the southwest in a dry arid area, but cool, lush, green mountains are only 30 minute away. He's anticipating they will ask him for a local address and his living situation.. any suggestions? Can he get fired over this? He's gonna be there alone working alot of hours and the idea of zero commute and zero rent seems mighty tempting.

Will it not be considered fraud if you enter into a fake rental contract in order to convince the authorities that you rent somewhere when you actually have no intention to rent? Where I live, the authorities can in addition go after the "landlord" for the rental income as per the agreement. Residency where I live - and I am not a US citizen, so please check whether applicable- includes even a place you left, as long as you kept an intention to return to that place. This would be the case if you go on an extended vacation/work somewhere else. Would it not be a better option if your father simply gave a declaration that you reside with him?
@chrisandsara5 жыл бұрын
We do have intention to return to their residence, actually. When we visit we stay there and are even storing stuff inside the bedroom we are renting while away. It should be mentioned that the lease was originally drawn up because we rented the space last summer while renovating the van at their place. It’s a legit lease and is a place we can return to as we’d like. ☺️
@auntielobster23255 жыл бұрын
@@chrisandsara Wonderful! As long as it is not a fake lease and you really pay rent and your landlord declares the income it is fine. If one wish to avoid all that,or a fake lease which constitutes fraud, a declaration from the parent to whose house you intend to go back is the safer option.
@beccaham5 жыл бұрын
@@auntielobster2325 I had a legal lease and did not pay rent. I exchange ged services in lieu of rent. So landlord doesn't have to declare rent in that situation. If they rent for $1 they also don't have to declare it as income because it is now the threshold.
