I knew one person who lived out of his truck. He told me the most difficult thing was finding a safe place to park your car at night. He also told me the best way to get a shower was by getting a gym membership. I can imagine sleeping in your car or van wouldn't be comfortable in extreme weather. Here where I live, the temperature has been over 100 °F with pretty high humidity. Sleeping in your car in that weather would be hard.

It can be cheap for some people. It depends on how you do it and you do have to have a source of income and backup funds! You can't just wing it you have to have a plan

That is EXACTLY! what I wanna do, is to do van life during the winter months. I know for fact! that would like to be where some sunshine and warm weather is, just not in the southern states. My plan is to keep a sticks and bricks residence, because anything! Can happen to your vehicle like your situation, then where will go? As a female that is kinda concerning for myself!

Even in extreme heat/cold, people can still live in their vehicle with the right equipment - power station, fridge, solar panels, etc. It's not for everyone. But for those who have the motivation to do it and the means to do it ...rock on!

Is it possible to live in your vehicle? Yes! It requires planning, the right type of vehicle, and a source of income. You need income for repairs, food, etc. I just learned that in some cities, even the least desirable areas to live in are $1250/month + utilities etc. I think its absurb to call people who live in their vehicles "lazy." There are lazy people with houses/apartments and they still won't work.

it's different if you have some type on money coming in and also you have access to a place to do laundry wash yourself washrooms dont have top sleep on the side of a road that could be busy or a neighbourhood where people are watching like my neighbourhood if I see a car parted ont eh side of the road for a while with someone ion it I will approach thinking they are casing a place, many addicts will steal vans because they can park in a area case a home breach into said home steal valuables take off sell those things to their dealer rinse and repeat i have seen that many times also working as security at City hall alone I used to come across many people living this way parked, I would approach first thing in the morning, sometimes you see garbage outside their vehicle or I would wake them up, they looked like they never truly slept because the people in the area usually druggies are constantly coming around their car checking it out and all of those people were people that had places but there homes were so far away from there work place that on Sunday nights they would park at city hall because it was only an hour away from their place of work , I would sometimes get them to move their vehicle to further away from City hall so that people that actually worked their or people that had to come in and do things at city hall had a place to park . Years ago1980s I had to live in my van for about 6-8 months but fortunately I was allowed to park on a part of a side piece beside a road in front of a friends home and even that sucked because it was through summer winter months hot summer chilly winters and making sure I had everything I needed for the night so I wasn't knocking on their door to use the washroom or to cook food because my camp stove wasn't working properly, or I forgot to stock up on water plus hoping they were home so I could possibly get a shower cleaned up to look for work it was inconvenient for everyone . van live can be very dangerous , I et a chuckle when I see pictures thumbnails of pretty younger woman looking good clean unwrinkled clothing perfect makeup and hair it's not like that, at least for me, it wasn't and for the people I came across it never is . then you have thing like mentioned a breakdown what happens that sure you could afford to fork out that money but they have to keep your vehicle for a few days or week. Then the cost of fuel daily moving around and the upkeep of your vehicle is going t obe much more than if you just lived in a place or you head out somewhere come back your vehicle is stolen now you're totally screwed you just lost everything your life and possible important papers .

Dude, due respect but all of this looks like poor planning and now it's costing you. Some of these vans are better than dumpy houses, you can stand, shower, cook and sleep in them. And they have their own heating and cooling systems. Run by solar that's mounted on the roof. Does your van have insulation to prevent thermal exchange? Can't really tell but you don't talk about it. That said if I was gonna get charged that much - I'd be YT'ing how to fix it myself .

Go on KZbin and put ur make and model it will explain but Naw usually unless you was in a accident and bent up everything all u gotta do is buy the Guage and the refrigerant drain the whole system and refill it dat may or may not work most times if it's going up it will still work for 3-6 months after u randomly hit all the connection points with super glue and filled wit refrigerant so ur talking a gamble but usually that means until it completely goes u just gotta keep paying 4 the refrigerant entering it yourself 😂 b4 u get a hotel ask the mechanic how long it will take if he says 3 hours he's just going to do what I was saying above 😂 if he says get a hotel or u read this late just make sure his work is guarantee 6 months 😂 and I wouldn't pay more than 1200

@@andrewslife1979 I had a dodge yeah u will hear a tap noise or thump when it's starting to go bad but mine worked years like this nowadays everyone is strap for money I wouldn't pay nobody 1200 I would research draining it & refilling it on KZbin and try refilling it every summer even if u refill it twice dats just 200 vs 2000 also if u go on KZbin scotty kemler he has auto repair videos where he talks about these scams look because I know they not gonna replace everything I would just pay someone to have it repaired or refilled it could also just be a fuse dat blew out 😂
