Thanks for watching! One thing I forgot to mention is that our house is around 1,400 square feet and the router covers all of it without any problems. If you have a huge house you might need some repeaters, but for us it’s been great so far.

Great review! We also live out in the sticks. No cable no DSL. And satellite is not a viable option. Purchased the Verizon home internet. A couple of things...only 2 LAN ports, WiFi was not the strongest by any means and it would lose some signal strength after awhile meaning slower speeds. I removed the nano sim and by using a micro sim adapter I am now using a netgear lb1120 which now I can run my WiFi off of my Linksys router. Much better signal strength and much stronger WiFi. Consistent 50 mbps down and 6 mbps up. So far great service for only $40 a month

As someone who just switched over from Comcast to Verizon 5G Home Internet, I am liking it way better, although the speeds aren't gigabit (700mbps, instead of 1200mbps on Comcast), the price to performance is something I cannot dispute. It might be cooler had you shown the installation (2 parts to it right?) walking around your house showing how easy (or not) this set up was and screen takes of your computer speed while other parts of your house are streaming video or audio. Not to be demanding, but that would really help making a decision. I live right next to Verizon 5G units on a post, but trees surround my condo and I hear that may be a problem in comparison to other Home 5G offers (T Mobile & AT&T).

Appreciate this honest review from someone in a rural area. I have a couple questions if you have time to respond. We like to leave our wifi off at night (weird, I know). Do you think I could put the Verizon router on a timer and it would simply re-establish a connection when the power turns back on? I see it doesn't have a power or wifi on/off button. Do you know what your ping is? Mine's about 50ms now, which isn't great but is still decent for online gaming. Many thanks! ♥

I'm in a rural area in PA. I have T-Mobile and it's excellent! My speed tests are much better. Just a tidbit of information, I get up to 32 on uploads. Downloads can go as high as 125+. This is with the first box the white square one. The Grey round one is 5G so I'm waiting to switch mine out. There's such a demand that the Grey box is on back order. For the most part I can honestly say it is excellent. They are currently working on the towers in my area, even though for me I have full 5G signal mostly all over. My son has the iPhone 11 and he gets great reception in most places but I will admit he doesn't get reception in some places where I'm 5G full bars. So I'd definitely recommend anyone who wants T-Mobile to get the 5G devices.

He is a very personable, likeable guy. However, this video is way short on substance. No serious information on the equipment. I watched the entire video and I still have no idea if I can attach external antenna(s), if the router is MIMO capable or if I can attach it to my home router which is a TP-Link AX1800 with some repeaters which I use to distribute WiFi around the house, garage and adjacent RV trailer...I am aware that this only provides fixed internet to the RV, not mobile internet. Also, I still don't know if the router is CAT 4 to 22 or what... My biggest frustration is that I am a Verizon wireless customer with 3 lines. I live less than a mile from a Verizon tower and just over 2 miles from another tower...both with line of sight and no terrain obstructions, whatsoever. EVERY cell service (home or the thing you have in your hand) may take up to 24hrs to completely provision. We have become way to accustomed to “stuff” just working the minute we get it. Porting over a phone number used to take days, now works by the time you walk out the door, USUALLY. If you owe the provider money, you’re going to have issues.

I just got T mobile 5G home internet a week ago, a few days after it became available at my rural location. With me being 5 miles from their tower and using their mid-frequency n41 (5G) band, I get 90 down, 12 up on a 2-bar signal strength. If you are closer to one of their towers, expect much higher speeds up to 400+. They supply the modem/router, flat fee (no taxes or fees) with autopay, $50/month if you sign up through the end of June, don't need to be a T mobile customer for that price, and no price hikes. You can check availability in your area on their website. T mobile is currently catering more to rural areas, while Verizon is fixated on dropping their super high speed mmWave nodes on city lamp posts in cities like Phoenix and Harrisburg, PA. But a lot depends on what your area is like. Now that 5G phones are more prevalent, it's mostly a matter of finding which company (between Verizon and T mobile at this point) has 5G home internet in your location and you can do that by having a friend who has a 5G phone speed testing at your house (if they have T mobile or Verizon service) to see how 5G works at your location. Some people may have both Verizon and T mobile service available at their location, and one might work at 80Mbps and the other at 500Mbps. For me 5G is 3x faster than the 4G connection I get on my phone at my house. A small minority get a faster connection 4G than they do 5G, but most people get 2x the speed on mid-frequency 5G than they would on 4G. I was stuck on sub-1Mbps upload DSL speeds and the same bad overpriced and unreliable Hughes Net options (although I never use it, it was an option) for the last 8 years. So T mobile Home internet is a leap for me, but not quite comparable to the time I went from dial-up to a 1.3Mbps DSL. However, it is wonderful.
