Every EU player knows that EU servers are full of unemployed russians on high end PCs sweating their ass off or cheating. This goes for all FPS games. I travelled to NA a few years back and played some games and the entire culture is different. NA players seem to play for fun/to socialise, EU players play to grind stats/rank. Broadly speaking.

@@bomboclaat1509gonna disagree, total sweat fest over here still, doesnt matter where you are sbmm will put you with people like you. Don't know what it's like in Eu, but no one on the mic is having any fun and people are trying extremely hard. Think this is just a case of the grass is greener. People aren't being patriotic, people disagree because we too deal with sweat lords daily. Imagine constantly being soaked in the sweat of tryhards then someone who hasn't experienced it tells you "oh yeah you guys just play for fun so it feels easier" meanwhile youre still lowering your heartrate after trying to fight your ass off just to break even, it is a bit of a diss, which is slang for treating someone with disrespect.

Everything you said sounds true of us Americans. We will get into every fight because waiting around in a building just isn’t fun. If you’re your in an American lobby and no one is on the mics it’s because they are in their own private discord chat with friends. Cheating can still be pretty bad here, it’s just that the player pool is so much larger the cheaters are a lower percentage. But we still get plenty of cheaters, warzone is mostly unplayable right now.

Firstly have to say your recorded videos have been on another level lately. As for the lobby debate I think the American servers are a bit easier or at least they feel that way. Im not playing these last few months ( it’s in a bad place this game right now) but earlier on in the year I was using the browse parties feature a lot and it got to the point where I would actively seek out American parties and particularly American hosts, I was personally doing so much better when I partied up with those guys. Now I’m not saying that I was up against worse players it actually crossed my mind if the lag compensation was working in my favour when I was 100+ ms ping. I’m in Manchester uk and when I play solo or play with E.U host I’d have 15ms and the game felt worse. I would lose way more 50/50 fights. Some of it could have been a placebo effect but I don’t know man it just felt so much more consistent and chilled with the yanks in my team. Apologies for the long post, keep up the great content.

My EU Friend (who lives Poland) played a couple games in NA with me (im american) and after awhile she felt the need to tell me how unbelievably different the culture is. She said people in america want to socialize, are nicer and are less angry. (Obviously being an american player my whole life I can definitely say I have met angry, non sociable and not-so-nice people) but she is someone who has played EU her whole life so If that's anything to take into consideration then It's kinda nice to know NA has a higher likelihood of meeting nice/social people. (She also said after playing with me and on american servers after awhile her own attitude and mood started to change, she became less serious about the game and tried to relax, even when we werent playing the game she began to stress less and said it was because of me and the other american friends she had met)

this is true for oce aswell, na west is easier for oce players because our ping is really high there. When it pops oce servers, it usually sweaty because SBMM will allow such lobby to create. So I think your whole conversation is just SBMM and you hopping in a different region is not an actual test just percieved feel with SBMM already broken. If you so much refuse to check lobbies with the only available tracker out there because you consider it cheating, hit me up I will gladly use it myself to get information you need. I can say for sure though that US lobbies in standard 6v6/10v10 etc are far easier in my experience than either AU or Asia lobbies and it isn't even close. I typed this just before you mentioned your Warzone Australia video. Good to know I am not crazy or just thinking this way because of an inherent bias.

To give som perspective on this, having been around gaming/esports on and offline since 1996 across several different games, and being in europe. What your describing about the culture of gaming was the reverse back in quake1 and q2, and this was mostly due to players in EU not having the time to commit to getting better, had terrible connections or simply didn't have enough money to get a computer to run the game at optimal framerates. Around 1999 when the majority of europe started moving over to DSL ,as well as netcafes booming, this started to change.. As well as things like CPL, WCG etc started to really gain traction EU started to adopt a completely different mindset where a good chunk of our players started playing for the sake of competing (the vast majority of them did not compete.. even if that was the goal). It was immediately VERY competitive and relatively sweaty from the get go... and the overall skill level was a lot higher. Meanwhile US was stuck in the mid/early nineties mindset where it was pretty much only casual gaming.. that later moved on to xbox and later xbox360 getting released where this mindset was very much in full effect still despite the US being the "mecca" of esports. It is the reason why they in games like Counter-Strike,quake etc lagged behind Europe and the general skill disparity was IMMENSE both in pubs and among the top teams/players in both regions (as well as korea, china ,japan etc.. outside of starcraft). I vividly remember top players from the US arriving in sweden and warming up in pubs, just to be flabbergasted by how hard every single casual server was to play on. Point being, i have a strong suspicion that a lot of what i described above still applies even today, the mindset is just more laid back (although this has been changing as of late). And a bit more, we had the UK being a lot like US in the regard of approaching games with a more casual attitude. The result of this was the UK and the entire region lagging behind the rest of europe both in casual and competitive.

I feel the US is the wildcard of the world in terms of player variety. You get chill guys who want to do nothing but have a couple beers while playing Warzone. In other matches, you get the super unhappy person who's naturally toxic about every conceivable thing that got them killed. Unfortunately you seem to get the lather more often since matchmaking and the generally competitive nature of gaming have made people find it less funny of someone doing bad and more bitter towards that person not pulling their own weight.

I’m from Canada on the west side and I think the biggest difference here is that we keep video games for what they are….. video games. We do it a lot more for enjoyment and to hang out with our friends and such. Na east the only reason it’s harder is because all the other countries that can connect to east better then west. Being a content creator and going to all these big events and everything just doesn’t seem to be where we strive for work and jobs. Not saying that people don’t but a lot of younger people in other countries look at streaming as there first and only job they want. Different culture and opportunities is the biggest part I think I’m a 4th class Engineer and all my other friends have a degree also of some sort and that’s what they do and games are a side thing.

I think a big factor is communication. I mostly random queue (because the guys I play with don't want to play this shit anymore) and in EU servers it's rare I hear anyone speaking English, it's mostly French and Arabic. When I find team mates via Xbox live and play on US servers everyone is talking in English. Being able to effectively communicate with team mates totally changes how I play. I'm not going to push a squad unless I think my team mates are going to have my back.

Kind of interesting that you are discussing in what region the game feels easier/harder. Because all my playing buddies hate this game now. The old game was actually possible to play alone with randoms and have fun. But now it's impossible. Mostly because the audio is completely random and it's no feeling of the environment. If there is enemies and so on. Then there is lighting and colors. And last but not least it's something with the netcode making the poor tick rate feel 100 times worse than it used to be with the same low tick rate. People should be fired, new people hired and so on. It's a disaster.

Some of the reasons why people may have the opposite findings are because of the way SBMM works, it takes into account your ping, so if you have a high ping from VPNing into EU or vice versa you are put into more casual lobbies, though there is still a lot of truth in the video. The EU has many more PC players and therefore more KB&M players, in the US the top players are those who play aggressively whereas in the EU it's the people who play strategically and secure buildings to hold power positions. Both just have different play styles and each play style requires a unique approach.

Comparing this topic to League of Legends ranked, this holds definitely. League started in NA, early pros and best teams were from NA. Then as time went on EUW became the main talent region and NA has been falling of for years now. Only area where League pros are more prominent are from China and Korea. But the trend of NA high level players traveling to EU to play ranked has been going off for years now and yes most of them reach high ranks in EU too, but its a known fact that NA has much a more relaxed attitude towards the game than EU and Asia. I mention League for its large playerbase, because of its scale i think it holds even more weight in the conversation.

Different franchise and a different sport entirely, but having played NHL series for years, thousands of matches, I can say there is a difference in European and North American players and the differences are pretty much the same as stated here. Generalized, Europeans tend to play more tactical and work as a team, like passing the puck more and playing their position with more discipline, while North Americans mostly try to score goals by themselves and won't care about positioning or tactics. Get the puck, rush the net, no passing. Glory hunting. North Americans use open mics more than Europeans, but mostly to talk trash. They also tend to quit games more often than Europeans, If the opponent plays better. Many of the best players I've come across are North American though. The player pool in North America especially when it's a hockey game must be much bigger than in Europe as it should, so it's no surprise that the best and the worst players come from there. But on average, the games against them are usually less challenging for me than many local games despite the connection issues, mostly because the style of play.

Great video. I like this style of videos you do. A few things. EU servers are less voice chat oriented because you speak 100 different languages lol. there are countries over there where cheating isn't "as taboo" so cheating is more prevalent. when you VPN to NA servers you usually are looking at a 200+ ms ping, that has a tendency to break the game in favor of you. (that's based on hosting with brit friends). Also the NA market is approximately 1/3 the size of Eu, and with this (i think) you end up with a bigger casual base.

As someone from Germany who has mostly American friends in Call of Duty, I have to say that American lobbies are (in my opinion) easier, not easier in the sense that the players are bad but rather that they don't tryhard every game. I don't often see the "standard meta" loadous that are trendy right now.they land other places etc. some days we only play US servers because EU just isn't fun anymore.. people are just more chill, in EU servers everyone insults each other and then they wonder why no one is playing in team, of course there are rounds like this in US servers too BUT in EU lobbies it's like that EVERY round Personal opinion: It sometimes seems to me that people in Europe try to take advantage of every opportunity to be better. I know people who don't talk in game chat simply for tactical advantages and spend hours trying to talk to others on Discord rather than just in game chat, then add all the setups we have, 240Hz, 200+ FPS feels like it has become normal, in the US lobbies it seems to me that many people just play to play not like here

I'm in the UK and back when we had the party search feature we used to actively look for a clearly American name to join onto because the lobbies where drastically easier! (I'm sick to death of being shit on by the bloody French! 😂)

Biggest problem is the latency and the cheatin, Im rite next to the service and can easily get 20 ping but because i have a 4kd they give me 65 ping, thats a huge issue, they should put me in my local servicer no matter what. And the cheating is just ridiculous

I find warzone to be easier than Multiplayer, im on the east coast. Right now I got 8 wins and a 3.50 KD. Average like 9 elmiminations per game, highest streak 14. I think it's easier but the games are still rigged by a lot of BS.

I cant say anything about warzone or region hopping. Heck I dont even have the current game, and play on ps4. I'm sure I have matched out of my local region, plenty of times where the whole lobby is speaking Spanish. But I have ran into and played tons of out or region people in OG cods. Most of the players left that we connect to wre from US, canada and mexico, but relatively often we get people reom europe, and I've even matched with Australians, and people in Japan other places. Unfortunately it seems roughly 50% of the cheaters I run into, will be from europe or asia, at least, I'm guessing based on their selected language, and the concentraion of ragehackers with English UK selected, is disturbing.

it sucks, I can't use my VPN to play in US anymore to escape cheaters from Asia, I have found a workaround though, I setup a firewall blocking all AU and Asia servers that I can turn on when things get rough and it will usually put me in US east lobbies. Bite me Activision.

It would be interesting if we had stats, official ones otherwise, it is just speculation, add to that the fact that in the COD community, everyone wants to rationalize the situation to make it seem as if he's unlucky, having the shit end of SBMM, the truth is and BOPS6 showed that flawlessly, the main unfair factor in lobbies is the différential in hardware and ping, in BOPS6 just a 10ms ping show a huge differential in experience, for me as an example I have 4G internet, playing on a 80ms on WZ I literally can't shoot back, I had one time in Multiplayer a 35 ms ping, I literally had a 3 KD, you can't get away with so many mistakes, the game makes sense it is sad but people don't address the real issues that have to be addressed, like in BOPS6 it is by far the worst servers and netcode ever in an FPS game, we need we have ideal FPS matchups until the whole world has the same ecosystem, meaning the same hardware and servers so advanced in technology that they can make people play on the same ping, let say I have a 40ms internet, and my opponent has 10ms, we should both play at 50, the day we'll get there, disparities in experience will destroy any SBMM talk.

Do you think your SBMM algorithm gets distorted when you play in NA? Could that be part of the reason why it’s easier? Or is it really just we play differently over here. Edit: you just discussed this in the video lol

Its less that it makes them a better player, its moreso that its much harder to win and get kills and perform well when everyone is playing that way. henceforth, making the lobbies harder.

Subscribed and been watching a lot of you lately bro. Your live streams and videos are top notch even watch at work where I can, keep up the good work. One thing that is 100% sure is that playing in the UK call of duty is sweaty asf, there is no rest from it unless you get a day off in the week 😂 and they really need to sort the cheaters out. Again it’s ruining the game and I’m questioning if I’m to old or little matey somehow has 0 recoil and is snapping left right and centre

Great video, your hard work is not getting unnoticed! What is your take on mixed KD party. I play with 2 of my friends and they have a higher KD (towards 2) while I am on a meagre 1, does this mean I will always have difficult lobbies? How does this work in sbmm?

Can’t agree with most of this. I’m in the uk playing EU servers. I play most times into the early outs most days . EU lobby’s are definitely harder and more sweaty. It’s not because EU players are better at all. Infact most my US mates are far better players. The player pool is huge and allows you to get easier lobby’s. I can play 20 games in the EU and find the same players throughout those games. A couple of months ago before the switch we got wiped by a team with 15-20 plus kills each on quads ..Wondering if they were just sweats or cheating I looked two up both were from a top ranking I believe Spanish MLG team.. how I got paired against them with my 1.27kd I have no idea. I also find a lot of the American randoms I play with believe there scump or similar and charge wildly into teams of 4 to die within seconds.. it’s always the ones that all the most smack in lobby you know are going to be the worst.
