I forgot how much I love this game. There is so much to do and I remember playing this for hours at a time, even throwing out my back during swordsplay (I'm old). I don't see a reason why they couldn't have done different modes and achievements in the Switch game, or even a Switch Sports Resort.

Switch Sports is extremely underwhelming and disappointing compared to this game and the OG Wii Sports. They should have just ported the OG Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort as one whole game that combines both of those games instead.

I mean it’s a little disappointing compared to this one, but extremely underwhelming and disappointing? Compared to the original wii sports? Nah The online play, customization, 3 new sports, different modes, updates to existing sports, and a fresh new location make it worth it in my opinion And I do think it’s stupid the leg strap and golf are held off for updates, but by the time all the updates have rolled around there could be about 12-18 sports in the game and possibly some other new additions

I got the new switch spots because I loved the two original ones so much. They are definitely far better than the new one. I wish you didn’t have to play online to unlock rewards all the time and I wish they had the point system like in the originals.

Wii Sports Resort: 12 sports, great graphics, very content rich, hours of fun for the whole family/friends Switch Sports: a hollow cash-grab with 6 boring sports, very soulless, and is VERY unfinished.

Seeing this, I'm now genuinely sad that I completely missed out on the entire Wii era from Nintendo. How in the ever loving heck can Nintendo be this insanely good in 2009, and then with a strait face try and sell us the absolute dumpster fire that is 2022 Switch Sports?! Seriously Nintendo, just port this game exactly as is to the Switch and I'll throw money at it for just the archery game alone!

If it was maybe only $40-50(can) retail, (then wait for a sale/discount), it would be decent enough for some casual party play with friends/family. Maybe I'm just way too competitive with sports in general though?!

Sports resort and all Wii controllers work with Wii U, with upscaled resolution, too. We were just playing this as a family and I’m sad to hear there’s nothing as good or backwards compatible for the switch.

Idk I like switch sports. I find it really competitive online and it brought in new sports like badminton, soccer, and volley ball. Golf is coming soon which will give it more games sports than wii sports. I could see them adding dlc sports to and more features later on since all switch online games seem to get that over time but yeah for me it’s up there with these two games

@@aimismyname01 The original Wii Sports has all of the mini games for each sport. Yeah Miis are in Switch Sports, but you can’t have them in the background or as the main focus. Also the Mii heads on top of the Sportsmate bodies look awkward imo. I’m not a fan of how Switch Sports is pretty much online for the most part and how you can only really unlock stuff from the online, especially since the online costs money and it will eventually shut down. If Switch Sports gave the option to have Miis be the entire focus and be everywhere in the game (including the title screen) with their same exact bodies from the OG Wii Sports and made it to where it has lots of stuff to do offline, then I would consider Switch Sports to be better than the OG Wii Sports.

@@aimismyname01 The Miis were what made the Wii Sports games iconic, and they’re much better for customization. Like imagine if Miis were the main focus in Switch Sports and there was an added Mii editor like the one in Miitopia to where you can pretty much create any character you want and have it look accurate. We could see Waluigi vs. Batman in a tennis match or Bowser vs. Mike Tyson in a boxing match (if boxing was in the game) or just being able to see Fawful and Dimentio chilling together in the background. The new avatars aren’t anywhere near that customizable and it’s hard to even make them look like yourself. That and they just look so corporate and soulless imo. Without Miis being the main focus, the game just feels like an ordinary sports game.

i think you're blinded by nostalgia honestly, switch sports is actually good and quite fun ngl, yes it doesn't have as many features but switch sports is bringing golf, and could easily have surprised drops of new games, like Mario kart 8 dlc

Switch Sports apparently has Battle Passes in it from what I’ve heard and the game is online-only with no content outside of playing with other people online. I also think the Miis are much better for customization and they were a big part of what made the Wii Sports games iconic.
