Thing is William is doing something unique and very valuable nowadays. His first skill dispels for 3 seconds any skill damage buffs benefitting the target.. it includes commanders skills and talents, but not only. It removes Wedge, certain inscriptions increasing skill dmg, ottoman buff, skill dmg city skin etc etc. Even if his kit start to be old compared to newest commanders, this is something no other commander is really doing. It’s kinda like Guan for infantry, no one else is doing Aoe Silence, and this is something super powerful in openfield. Kit is old but there is something unique you kinda want to keep

I have Nevsky, Joan, Saladin and William. I am going to use a second cavalry march this kvk once I get the crystal tech to six marches. I assume I should run William behind Saladin? I don't have Huo up to speed yet.

If they are secondary, they do not need equipment (and all other secondary commanders do not benefit from either equipment or armaments)

For some reason people usually forget to mention that his expertise also gives 10% more attack. Gaining 10% def on his buff, 10% att and 200 to 300 df is actually underrated imo.

@gainzgaming1 it depends how the rest of your lineup is looking if it's worth it I would say. I do think william is a bit underrated though as many are comparing him at 5551 to other expertised commanders when william could be performing a bit better expertise.

I think new commander should be a reinvention of William. And instead of just having “Cannot benefit from buffs that increase skill damage” it should say “Cannot benefit from buffs that increase skill damage, normal damage and counterattack” maybe remove counterattack if that’s too op. But with the smite meta that will help balance things around! :’)

I don’t really like him. That weird aoe misses the targets sometimes. I was fighting two barbarians at the same time and Joan’s aoe hit both and William only hit the person in front of me.
