This was the information that I was looking for. Thanks for posting this video! I’ve got a couple A2000 and my personal go to glove for coaching & instruction is an A2K DATDUDE model...however, all that said I wasn’t familiar with the A1000. I mainly wanted to make sure the break-in was decent on it and that the leather was solid. Reds fan here too, and currently coaching a Red Sox youth team as well. 😎

Thanks for watching the video! The A2000 & A2K are my personal favorites as well. I just can’t justify the cost for this specific age group.

Nice review. Spot on the A1000. I picked up the 11.5 I couldn’t justify buying an A2000 for myself not playing organized ball anymore. I owned an a1000 in 2004 my senior year and they have definitely stepped their game up.

My 10 year old needs a new glove. A friend/coworker said I MUST buy the A2000. I don't think I'm ready to drop $259 on my 10 year old's glove, just yet. He still leaves it outside in the weather and gets gatorade on it in the dugout. He also loses anything that isn't attached to him. Maybe in a few years when he's on a Jr. High team, and has enough responsibility to take care of it. I think this A1000 might be our choice. Thanks for the video.

Great video helped me a lot but I still have a few questions as I haven’t played baseball and I’m 13 and going to be doing club. Bats and gloves seem to be quite expensive around the 200 dollar mark and I was wondering if I could go play competitively with a cheaper bat and an a1000 or do more expensive bats/gloves help a lot more?
@thehallpass76744 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching the video! Equipment in any sport seems to be getting more and more expensive every year. If it were me, I would focus my budget on a better bat more so than the glove. The right bat can give more “pop” in contact in my opinion. Your is extremely important but there are several “less expensive” alternatives to that specific aspect of the game. Good luck!

Just picked up a two A2000s from a distributor who could not get the gloves outta the country due to COVID. The distributor donated the gloves to the Salvation Army (like a goodwill store) and I picked up 2 gloves for $45 a piece. Brand. Spanking. New. I dunno how I am gonna fair with these gloves since I don’t play ball everyday anymore…I’ll stick to my Louisville Evolution Glove for now.

Seems that a few things have changed over the years. Youth tend to break out the thumb of the glove and tend to pivot to the most expensive, pro model glove out there. We never thought of doing that, at that age. Ultimately it's about developing skills and enjoying the game.
@thehallpass76745 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching the video. I would agree that a lot has changed over the years with the “travel ball” scene becoming a much bigger part of youth baseball. The thumb portion of the glove is how the A1000, A2000, and A2K gloves are designed. That being said, purchasing equipment is all about individual budgets. I’m just offering up an opinion on what is an affordable “higher end” glove option without spending $250 or $350 on an A2000 or A2K.
@scottgh82855 жыл бұрын
Typically, I would go to a store and try on different gloves. Usually, you will find one that fits like it was made just for you and that was usually the one I chose. I agree that there are some really good options these days, that do not break the bank.
@jaydee26202 жыл бұрын
As far as the Pedroia fit glove it is for juveniles or a very small hand. My hand is thin and on the small side of average and it was extremely tight on me. Or someone who wants a very snug tight fitting glove.

I know nothing about baseball (I am English) but my son loves and plays it weekly in a tournament. He is 11 turning 12.is this a good glove for him? Will it get small on him really quickly? I am looking for a decent under $200 glove and am not finding much info. Thanks

Hey don’t know if you will respond since you know it’s been two years but I found an A2000 on Mercari for 180 and the seller says it hasn’t been opened. I also am looking into an a1000 and was wondering do I take the chance on the A2000 or buy an a1000 brand new from Wilson. Btw I am a 13 year old who is going into 8th grade and going to play 13u possibly 14u and need a new glove for the season. I want it to be broken in by winter training. Sorry for the long comment but I really am struggling making a decision on which one to buy. Thx 🙏
@thehallpass76743 жыл бұрын
Assuming you can get the A2000 for that price point and it has yet to be used then I would probably go in that direction due simply to the leather quality which is a bit better than the A1000. -- That said, my son has used the A1000 for the last 3 full seasons in both Little League and Travel and between his time on the mound and now in right field, the glove has help up extremely well. It's a high quality product so I don't think you can go wrong either way.
@jacksondickerson29773 жыл бұрын
Ok thx so much for that input. I wanted to make sure I chose a glove that would hopefully last till at least junior year if high school. And like I said that is like 3 or 4 years since I’m going into 8th grade. I think I will buy the A2000 since all the other research I have done says it’s a top glove for high schoolers. Thx

There is a noticeable difference between the A500 and A900, but not as much of a difference in quality between the A1000 and the A2000, except for maybe the quality of the leather. When a guy jumps to the A900, A1000, is a near pro caliber glove.
@thehallpass76744 жыл бұрын
I would completely agree. The A1000 has a very slime difference in leather grade. Overall, the same design and manufactured in the same place at the A2000 & A2K.

Thanks for watching the video. In my opinion... yes. This glove is very high quality when comparing it to other "top end" gloves. Again, you're simply getting a different grade of leather but the design and actual manufacturing process of the A1000 is performed in the same location as the A2000 and A2K. If you're budget doesn't fit those gloves then the A1000 should be more than good enough for a High School ball player.

Best way to buy a glove, take the kid to the sporting goods store, put him in front of the age appropriate section and let him pick it himself. A glove needs to speak to you when you put it on. The right glove is the one you don’t want to take off the whole time you are looking. Ps. Then go buy it online for half the price.
