Bontemps will make excuses for Embiid but say Mitchell Robinsons injuries are unsolvable? Weird

When Robinson is healthy, he plays well, but he's not averaging 30+ a game. I get what you're saying, but I don't think this is the direction you should go.

@mikekelly4542Ай бұрын
@aczeos when it comes to injuries they have the same issues. Big men who can’t stay on the floor. Has nothing to do with how good they are and all to do with Bontemps’ flawed logic.

Did Bontemps just say that MItch Robinson won't solve a defensive problem? He's literally one of the best defensvie bigs in the league. Also Precious is a rebounding monster, but sure you blame KAT for the defensive struggles
@HelmerFud4Ай бұрын
His reason why he said that is because Robinson is always hurt. As a team, you can't always be waiting for a guy to comeback from injury. It gets to a point where you just need a healthy guy to eat up some minutes, even if he's a worse defender
@dustinsirois4788Ай бұрын

One of the best defensive bigs in the league? 😂. No he isn’t. He’s a good defender but his rebounds are really what he’s known for. And it’s not like he’s going to play 35 mins a night either. He’s not durable enough.
@pimpnamedslickback7780Ай бұрын
@@dustinsirois4788yep. And Knicks fans keep acting like Robinson is even in the stratosphere of someone like Rudy gobert. That’s what they need to get to a true contender level defense. 20 mins of Mitch Rob isn’t going to give you that

Filtering out the Celtics game Knicks are top 5 in offense top 15 defensive efficiency, specifically 3rd and 13th through 10 games. This is the formula the nuggets used and won a championship. The knicks will be fine.

No they won't, they have a center who cannot defend the paint, and they have no depth at all, one injury to one of their starters and they're screwed.

@mambaASIАй бұрын
@@bloodofdepanta Yea that's true. But 13 in defense isn't good enough imo. They gotta be top 10. And letting the bulls score 124 in regulation is pretty terrible. But not worse than losing to portland back to back lol. But yea mikal needs to step it up defensively otherwise not beating celtics or cavs in playoffs...
@sportsguru3786Ай бұрын
I don’t think it’s the trade because if you don’t make the trade , 6’9 Julius Randle is your center . I think it’s more defensive chemistry vs towns
@sLyOnE_NYcАй бұрын
The Knicks just need time, last year the defense wasn't good until we traded RJ and Quick, that was in like December.
@PacmanemanАй бұрын
@sportsguru3786 it's that were missing 2 bigs. We miss precious and Mitch rn and the trade wouldn't change that at all. We're also 1-5 in the clutch. Mainly because of defense in the paint. Towns is bad but it's being exaggerated his impact. Its a team missing bigs with only 1 carrying on offense most nights. They'll be fine and JB/mikal will only start to shoot better.

Minnesota made a mistake. They were a big team with three point shooting that opened up the driving lanes for Ant. Now they are rather smallish with Randle at PF and Ant's driving lanes are now clogged.
@mambaASIАй бұрын

@dannypeixoto8435Ай бұрын
It’s exaggerated but not a bad point. The problem, and why i kind of agree, is that Julius was great as a point scorer and rebounder. KAT has to play more defense since he’s bigger and is playing C, that’s the bottom line. I think Hartenstein and DiVincenzo are the real difference. Pace and intensity took a huge hit without them

I have a really crazy idea for Joel: if you can`t blow by (!) people anymore, because you don`t trust your knee..why not finally play like a true center? Your are one, if not the biggest and strongest center in the league. Nobody in the league can stop you playing in the post with the back to the basket!! Even Wemby would struggle, if you play him hard with your body, making you enough space with your body to put the ball in the basket without getting blocked. It`s not rocked sience. You are 7" feet and build like a truck. Who in the world can stop you in the post? Nobody! At best, you draw doulbe teams and can pass out to some wide open guy shooting a three or cutting to the basket. Nobody wants you shooting mid-range jumpers anyway. Work under the basket with your body, so you don`t even have to jump or move around much. Porblem solved.

Please Windy watch the games instead of creating weird narratives... Curry wasn't playing 35 minutes because GSW wanted to beat Mavs badly; he was averaging low minutes because the starters didn't have to play 4th quarter for blow out games early in the season, then he got hurt which he only played 3 quarters for that game as well. The game he was back from injury he had minutes restriction, now his minutes are back to normal minutes except Cavs game which they gave up after 3rd quarter. In a normal competitive game he will always play 34-35, the games this season just went in a weird direction + his injury this season which resulted in his low minutes. Stop looking at stats and watch the games. If anything, Curry played extra during Celtics game because they wanted to win badly, which was actually unusual for Kerr.

Dallas and Minnesota are both struggling to find their mojo right now. It's still early so I'll give them more time, maybe until the new years. Minnesota's first year with Rudy was rocky as well with KAT injured most of the year.
@doejan8549Ай бұрын
rudy and kat was rocky in the first year because dlo is at times bad at playmaking thus he was traded in season. but that year that gobert was traded to minnesota, kat utilized him better than any pg and coach in the timberwolves that even ant is vocal with his struggle with gobert pick and roll early in the seaon so next year they had to trade for conley. kat initiated clutch lob passes and good two man games, imagine or remember that, that gobert is giving screens to towns thats center to center pick and roll, and sometimes pick and pop with kat as the screener. unfortunately kat got injured early that season that his record that year dropped from 25pts 50/40/88 to 20pts 49/36/87 in only 29 games of the season played.
@MerpTimeАй бұрын
The wolves and Knicks trade are an example, on paper it might make sense.. but you dont always have instant chemistry that makes it work. ANT and KAT had chemistry, DDV had chemistry with his villanova boys. And thats why they both worked last year. I still feel to give it some time, its only 10 regular season games into a new roster for both teams, if they struggle with this by February, then we can deem is a bad trade.

Jacking up more 3s doesn't mean you are going to score more. More 3s mean more misses. More 3s mean less fouls being drawn. Everyone who thinks you need to jack up 50+ 3s a night to score is insane. Shooting 3s is just easier to do. It's lazy offense that really don't score that many more total points. But the 3 is better? No the 3s is easier to shoot. But it doesn't make it better. The skill of shooting the 3 is about as untalented as you can get. Players coming up now don't have a clue of getting their own shot because they are all just standing at the 3-point line waiting to miss 65% of him. The NBA is becoming skill less in overall offensive talent.
