Oh yes! Better than sheep wool. Not as scratchy. I purchase yak blended with cashmere and or sheep wool. Last purchase came from Mongolia via Ebay.

I've been collecting yak down wool, and I've tried spinning the carded wool of that, I've not been very satisfied with the results, but I only just started with spinning and all wool prep related things. Now my carding machine is broken and I'm considering switching to hand prepping for spinning. Do you have any experience in what is better, combing or carding yak wool to create fleece to spin?

I have a yak wool top from Kora and have to say it's one of my favourite items of clothing for the winter months! So much warmer than the synthetic top it replaced.

I 💘 yak yarn! I have thick hats, hoods, cowls and balaclavas with it. Tough fibers and warm!

I have spun and knitted yak wool, the animal lives in the mountains and it nicer than sheep wool..

Hi, I have a question that maybe you may be able to answer. I've got yaks and have been collecting their wool and try to clean and spin it. Have you used combed or carded yak wool? What do you think would be better to spin?

I have made 100% yak sweaters and cowls for myself. They are super warm and soft. Truly better than wool.

Making a scarf. The yarn is a blend of 65% Merino, 20% silk, and 15% yak. I do think the yak is similar to Mongolian cashmere. Very soft but does not unknit very well so no mistakes😉
