I just started the guitar at 60 and am already jamming. Both aucustic and Electric. LOVE it sooooooo much. An dwhen I say jamming, that's a realtive term. I'm terrible but I jus tlove learning. Keyboard is next to learn both at the same time. I used ot play keyboard a long time ago for a year or so. Just do it and enjoy it. Yeah, at our ages we will never be rock stars but it's so good for the brain and SO much fun I can hardly beleive it. Just have patience and don;t get frustrated. Go in with just expectations of learning and having fun.

Hi Jeremy, nice video and nice keyboard. Maybe you could mention the fact that for people who do need the onboard lessons but don’t need the key lighting system, they could buy the PSR E373, which has the same features as the EZ300 excepted for the lighted keys, and is cheaper. As for the songbook, it is really nice and it is possible to use it with keyboards of all brands. For instance, the chord progressions can be played on any electronic keyboard with auto-accompaniment. It is a nice way to start learning harmony.

Actually, EZ300 has more educational features, as to the number of educational songs (48 more presicaly), that's why both keyboards have separate song books. See the specifications of both keyboards, or download song books for both keyboards and compare.

We are starting up a small scale music studio for the young people we work with to try and harness there skills in a positive way and some will want to learn instruments but have learning impairments so struggle with reading music and many other issues. Our keyboard is an old Yamaha EZ200. Other than guitar, I'm considering learning another instrument as a side project. "I bought a Theoryboard but haven't played with it much. I'm amazed by its theory handling? Your mood? I checked out her old EZ200. Since it is no longer supported, the only midi lead available was roughly £100.00 🤔. After reading your outstanding EZ300 review, I'm considering buying it. Since the EZ200 has an illuminated keyboard, I could play one of its pre-programmed songs slowly, but is that all there is to it? Nowhere to find the EZ300's additional amazing features. Jeremy, your thoughts? Many thanks for a fascinating channel.

I don‘t understand why Yamaha leaves away those learning functions on higher models. There are Beginners who want good sound quality right from the start buying an SX700 f.i. But then do not have built in learning support anymore.
@nickh7777 Жыл бұрын
The upcharge in cost would be significant, the keyboards probably wouldn't sell to beginners bc not a lot of people consider blowing thousands of dollars on a hobby they're not sure they're gonna stick with, and people who are serious players don't want a cheap looking keyboard, as I imagine it takes away from an authentic look (it would be a joke for them to play on something that shows the keys). Just like Grand pianos and baby grands aren't made for people to practice and learn on. The cost is just stupid, and the sound is lost on a beginner.

Hi! I hope after a year now someone can still help me out. I’ve heard from a lot of people that a full keyboard (with 88 keys) is better because lower sets just as 61 keys limit your experience. I considered buying the Yamaha ez 300 and I‘m only a beginner so I‘m not sure if I really need those 88 keys, but it would be a shame if I learn it the hard way later on after already spending my money on it. I really like the keylighting system and wanted to ask if there’s a 88-key keyboard that is similar to the EZ 300? Thank you:)

Thanks for the great review. I grew up playing the guitar and eventually had a cheap keyboard that I also loved to play but I've not played anything at all in quite a few years and love the piano and been wanting something. I think this would be a great keyboard to get me back into it and with the lighted teaching system help me to learn a lot of things I never knew how. Because I was just doing basic stuff improvisational that I taught myself. Anyways I was just going to order one with over night shipping so I could get it on my day off but disappointed to see it's on backorder so have no idea when I would be able to get one. So now I'm hesitant to place the order because I was hoping to have it show up when I know I'll be at home to receive it. . Sad. :(
@solaris_1422 жыл бұрын
Well I went ahead and put in my order. Decided I've just got to have one of these. I added a couple of accessories which already shipped. Hopefully it won't be too long a wait before more are in stock and ship out. Excited to start messing around with this keyboard. I can see myself getting lost for hours on end with this and it 's many features. You can be sure I'll be checking out more of your videos for some good tips. And yeah , based on what I can hear of it over youtube the sound quality seems wonderful.
@solaris_1422 жыл бұрын
Okay, so I just got an email that says they found one for me but it's been out of box and on display. Also says if I don't want that one I'll have to either cancel my order or select a different item... I decided to just go ahead and have them ship it to me because after all as long as everything works and sounds the way it should that's what's important. And also it should arrive on my day off/Tuesday so I won't have to stress about it sitting outside my house when I'm at work. Not ideal, but I can always return it if there is some kind of problem and not happy about it.

The PSR-E373 is still a great keyboard, but if you can afford the extra cost of the PSR-E473, or the PSR-EW425 with the 76 note keyboard if you want more keys, it's a no brainer if you are serious about playing, even if you have to wait a while and save up for the difference. That way, you won't regret not going for the better one. It's just like having a high performance car. You may just take it easy cruisung and everyday driving, but it's nice to know you can open it up and really go when you want to, or your acquired skills ability and experience allow you to take it to that level.
