This is only showing the Cold TIG functions of the machine and on 110v. This machine is capable of much more and I’ll dive in soon. I was just really interested in testing out the Cold TIG first.

Love the how-to vids as much as SNU and running vids. Never thought I'd consider getting a Tig welder before your recent build along series. Really has me itching to build a caged buggy/truggy. Looking forward to more on this welder as well as the more budget friendly 205. Which is the route I'll take once I'm ready to dive into another RC rabbit hole. Already have an Ender 3 V2 Neo. If that new $200 A1 was out when I was shopping. I would have purchased it instead.

Happy for you Josh. I'm slowly getting inspired.. Mayne this winter, stuck in the house I might build my first buggy. A welder and a printer are not cheap items.. Equipment vs New RC 🤷‍♂️ tough call

Josh, another tool I think you'd like is a new 4 axis desktop CNC mill that was recently funded on kickstarter. It's called the Carvera air. I think these would be perfect l for you and Matt for these builds. They seem to be the x1 carbon of desktop CNC's.

cold weld what I researched its that the amps goes to 0 to 110amps on your case on each pulse, instead tig pulse that uses an amp range.

Iv never tried a "cold"weld. Would be interested to see 3 controlled samples with one being the cold spot weld, a 2nd with silicone bronze filler and a 3rd test using er70s filler. And see how hard it is to break each. I don't see myself buying a machine to cold weld if i have a tig machine, but it looks like something id play with and just see what i could tack together, lol

Dude I just ordered my first tig welder last week. I really wanted to be able to weld aluminum so I got a Chinese arccaptain Tig 200p ac/dc. I did aome tig way back in highschool, hopefully I haven't forgot everything 😅 (it also does spot)

Josh good viideo im sure Yes will enjoy all of the sales generated by this video.For safetys sake i really hope you have that argon bottle secured on the floor.I love your cats but all it would take is for one of them ( or you) to accidetly knock that tankover and id the valve connector broke off you would have a live missle shooting through your house. I saw a shop teacher do it accidentally and it went through an aluminum roll up door.safety first! good job on your builds.

The bottle is chained to my welding cart. But the cart has my other welder on it (the yellow one) so I just set the new welder on the bench and ran the argon line over. Totally agree that treating bottles with care is important.

Max Amp for small tubing makes me curious if it will do anything bigger at all. I suppose if you only do tiny things it is just fine though.

Cold TIG is specifically for thin metal work, and amperage could go up if on 220. Now if I switch over to regular TIG of course I could do the regular stuff.

It’s not a great fit for RC. A TIG is much better suited to our scale. I have a MIG and haven’t used it for an RC in 10 years.

What type of electrical system would be best for this type of welding. I have a 100 amp panel.

I’m welding on a normal outlet in my garage. For RC, it doesn’t take anything wild.

A 220 is ideal. For a 110 welder a dedicated 20 amp. Is what's called for. Some are fine on 15 amp. Feed. That same 110v welder on a 30 amp dedicated works its best. So be careful and make sure if you get a 110v welder you get one that won't trip your circuit.

I would have spent another 100! And baught the Simder…. It’s a “10 in 1”. MiG, Tig, stick HF start Plasma. Still cheaper than a UCFab chassis.

The Simder 10-1 is $999 and doesn’t have cold TIG. This is currently $445.

I tried chassis build with a cheap $125 lift tig and thus far have failed miserably. Granted I am entirely new to welding. This Cold TIG seems way simpler than Lift Tig. Thoughts on that?

You're making it harder to avoid buying one of these. I'm a little worried about the load on my workshop circuit. I've flipped the fault a few times even just using my soldering iron and heat gun at the same time. Also, as space is limited, do you think it's fine to operate in such a small room with limited venting?

I wouldnt recommend using it in a small space Matt, especially if you have the postflow at 5 seconds, Argon gas is designed to eliminate the oxygen around the area it is welding and if it starts filling the room we may find you face first in one of your builds lol. Iv had times where im welding a lot of parts and my lungs start to feel tight. Garage with open door would be more appropriate. Saludos 👋🏻

Watching the peel was not very satisfying to watch either.. more of a cringe peel. Cold Tig is interesting... Had to watch!
