Disagree. Pikachu isn’t a nepo baby. All the Pika clones are nepo babies, but Pika isn’t. Look at the original Red/Blue (or Red/Green) and Pika was barely considered special. I’m pretty sure Clefairy at one point was considered for the mascot role over Pika. It was only when the anime came out that Pika blew up. If anything Pika is the kid from a regular family that was pushed into show business and became a star.

I know no one else will so I have to make my case for zangoose. My girl is out here representing all the emo girlies who became punk after high school. Zangoose is like a story that writes itself she is so versatile and the literal embodiment of androgyny. Like they're giving cvnt but also like transmasc and enby realness. She has a chokehold on Camp University and I think that's why she's so great, you could add her to any girlypop team and she will just give that camp flare that will just leave you questioning the limits of girlypop.

the normal type is such a subtle slayer in the pokémon-girlypop universe. although we have very extravagant types like ghost and fairy that are sure to serve you high concepts every time, it was essential to first lay the groundwork of what makes a girlypop pokémon through the normal type. normal type really pioneered girlypop pokémon as a whole, with main staples like jigglypuff and clefable. in storytelling, we are only able to understand grander analogies and messages because we learnt the core principles of what makes a story, and in this sense we are only able to get to the gardevoirs and absols through the eevees and lopunnys. normal type pokémon excel at “less is more;” pokémon like skitty and mincinno give JUST enough to show that they CAN serve but leave the rest to the imagination. also on a team, having a bunch of primarina or pheromosa-like pokémon is going to suffocate the message you are trying to convey. so by balancing the team with these simple serve pokémon, the main idea is able to be sufficiently read by the audience. the normal type is such a diverse and foundation-laying type and it NEEDS to be talked abt more… also winter(brown) deerling is giving chocogirl/sweet lolita (especially the shiny) and could totally fit into a team themed around that

Phaun really thought all her viewers were girls 💀 Not being mean btw I’m a 13yo boy, and I actually never really liked the overrated cool Pokemon, say Lucario, for instance. I always like the more casual designs that are a mixture of cool and cute. Two of my favorite Pokemon are Dragonite and Flygon, both of which are pretty dang cute. I’m a big fan of some of the more “girly” Pokemon. I really like Audino and Lilligant. I never bring this up to people, as I usually get embarrassed about liking cute and girly things, or others say I’m doing something we shall not discuss. ooooooh, i love the little overview at the end, thats a nice touch! i really like the direction you went in this one. with the large number of mons in the normal type, it makes sense to focus on uniqueness (and CNT) to really decide on who reaches that mother icon status. Im so glad that at least spring Deerling and Sawsbuck got their flowers. I think that all of the deerlings are low girlypop/high okay! at minimum just cause of how cute they are and how iconic they are for having seasonal differences. but i can understand that uniqueness being a double edge sword when they dont have a lot to differentiate them with pre- evolution. I also really hope people stop underestimating Arboliva. She had potebtial mother written all over her

stantler has the cute bubbly butt and the "santa's helpful flying reindeer" vibe but with like a >:| kind of face so i agree with (LA). but wyrdeer takes the cocept of psychic nature spirit like the deer god from princess mononoke or satori from breath of the wild and I can totally see it on a nature spirit team with maybe torterra, celebi, or if we're talking just normal types, then the smoliv line, def arboliva, buneary, swablu, meloetta - and it can become the ace of your team. extra props because you got to ride it majestically in best girl, legends of arceus, which really added to ~ the ghibli vibe ~. so i can see it being bumped up to okay, or even girlypop. ESP because it gives the stantler line a story!! it's gained wisdom and ethereality

I love Stantler for a similar reason to Noctowl. They have that nice brown palette, real forest animal inspiration, and a touch of mystery. You'd find them deep in the forest in a slant of moonlight, share a knowing glance, and move along. They don't want to be on stage, showing off. Their purpose lies elsewhere. Also they both have cool headgear.

She gives airport chic, like, she gives that one woman who’s obviously on her way to a business meeting, but she has a stylist and she has a makeup artist. She’s too busy to keep them around all the time, but she is in constant correspondence with them. Her stylist has sort of curated a go-to sort of simple, easy to put on, easy to take off, sort of wardrobe that she uses everywhere she goes because a businesswoman of this level requires.. an image! I mean, th-that’s just the unfortunate way that we treat women in the world is, like, we are constantly keeping them to these high high standards, but, she does it gracefully - um, she’s learned specific makeup techniques from her makeup artist as well. She doesn’t get her makeup done, she has her makeup artist come in and collaborate with her on how to create an easy-to-do, business-ready, business-APPROPRIATE, um, makeup look. She’s clean. She’s fresh. She’s elevated. And she’s always one step ahead.

The way I felt so seen with this video! Kecleon in design def just okay but in how she’s introduced in the game as an invisible wall and in Pokémon go just kinda showing up randomly at certain pokestops gives it at least Girlypop territory if not mother.

i love watching these and maybe im being too future minded but im just wondering how we and you can possibly go into ranking other types of pop without it taking literally forever like maybe after finishing the girlypop conversation we could just have a tierlist where 'girlypop' is a tier thats already filled out with the ones that were established girlypop here and then those that were not ranked girlypop can then be put into their own pop tiers , i feel like that would at least take someee of the work off of it so that you wouldnt have to have like 5 different tiers for each kind of pop and you wouldnt have to re-rank the same pokemon but 🤔 much to think about. I mean thats if you even want to explore the other types of pop eventually but like. For the present. I have to say that even though Cinccino ended up in girlypop the story that you crafted for her which i think was really fitting honestly kind of elevated her to Mother for me like i feel like she really does give you that story just with one look
