Genuinely your videos are so well done, I appreciate how well you explain and show everything.

Whenever I get DS Lites with broken screens I let them pile up and then bulk sell them to someone who wants to fix them because tearing down most of the console just to replace the screen AND having to deal with a hinge AND ribbon cable combo is a tough sell for me, especially when, at least in my area of Australia, they're everywhere and as a result don't sell for all that much. But my gripes aside, this was a really well done tutorial. All of yours have been so far.

Thank you! I was considering doing the same thing because it can be pain to replace them sometimes but figured why not just fix it. Glad you enjoyed it though!

Love the video! I do have a question though: the replacement screen (seems like the same type as yours) had air bubbles on the screem (looks like its own screen protector? Doesn't match the old one), so do I need to remove that before I put the old screen protector on, or no?

Thanks! I lot of times the new screens come with a protective film on them that will need to be removed before install. It's really just there to protect it from any scratches with handling and shipping. To me if it has air bubbles in it, that sounds like it would be one that needs to be removed before hand.

If I don't have speakers to it I have to weld new ones?
@gamejaeger2 ай бұрын
I'm assuming you mean if the new unit didn't come with speakers? You should be able to use the existing speakers but if those are bad or missing for whatever reason, you may want to purchase a top screen that already has them attached to skip the transplant step.

@@gamejaeger Do you have to use a welder tool to connect the top screen to the motherboard?
@gamejaeger2 ай бұрын
No soldering is required if you already have speakers attached to the replacement top screen. It's just seating cables properly and fishing them through the system to the correct locations.

My shell piece for the top screen isn't wanting to go back on properly

They kind of slip together and its a pretty tight fit too. If you haven't already, I'd check to make sure none of your other parts like the speakers or wires are out of place first and try to put it together again. Maybe even put some tape down to hold them in place too. Those parts can slip out of place easily when you're putting the shell together. Otherwise check the fitment of the screen too, if it's a little off that can give you some problems too. Good luck, I'm sure you can get it!
