Had some crazy system crashes on just a few particular games. Removed both sides of the fan protector grates and now those games don’t crash every half of play. Also, the heat from the exhaust is basically cut in half because the fan can actually breathe now. Maybe mine being a launch PS5 is an issue but I’m very happy with this mod, now that I’m out of warranty

I waited 9 months and was happy to keep waiting BUT my tv broke and as I bought a decent 4K hdmi2.1 tv, I thought I may aswell see if I can get a ps5 for a decent price and I found 1 for £500. That’s £50 more then retail but I got physical MK11 Ultimate for £17 instead of £50 so I’m happy. Just got Ps5 today and going to set up with tv, tomorrow. Sure there’s no games but I have tons of unplayed games and in looking forward to playing god of war in 4K 60fps and I’m looking forward to playing that built in free game.

If you have the disk Version you may experience loud noises due to the disk bay. I have the digital and it’s silent my brother has the disk and you can hear how loud it is.

That was in my case too. For about 6 months, you wouldn't hear a single sound from the ps5. Every 1,5 hours the fan went crazy for some seconds and then it was silent again. Now, almost a year after, the fan makes extremely annoying noises. It's not just the spinning sound but something different. It also gets really hot behind the ps where the cables are. I don't think I have a problem with the fan, but it gets hot too quickly. I accidentally damaged the warranty seal, so I'm not sure if I should send it to Sonyfir repair.

Why did they put those metal grills on the fan ? probably for safety reasons ? Cause they look like the will only restrict airflow & generate turbulances. Playstation's quality control is terrible. Not only does my brand new PS5 have this buzzing issue, but it also crashes while just browsing the dashboard. Also, my controller came with small marks in between the analog sticks and on the touch pad. Terrible experience and this is my first playstation console since the PS2.

So i found out that on my ps5 the fan motor... mayhaps fan motor copper "cog"? And i say that loosely cuz i dont know the name for it but i digress, the said fan motor cog becomes slightly loose and grinds on itself. I found that if i tilt the ps5 vertically it stops buzzing noise and setting it back down very gently it will stay quiet. How ever if you knock on the cover it will come back. Then you just lift it back up and down and it stays off. Hope this helps. Sure as hell helped me also this vid very informative wouldnt have found the solution to my problem with out it❤❤
