I'm having to learn all this stuff to set up my dad's security cameras, the company who makes the routers have changed all the default passwords for security reasons but forgot to tell their customers the new passwords, when I phoned them up they accused me of a social engineering attack. This video alone has better information on how to solve my issue than the entirety of the 400-page PDF manual I found online.

They didn't forget, brother. They change those passwords to keep users out. If a normal user has access to the elevated login for a router they can change things like DNS and WPS, both functions ISPs use to make money off of their customers. Fun Fact: In America, Xfinity routers default elevated access is "admin" "password" and they normally change it to "password1" or "password2". They cannot create credentials unique to each customer or they will lock themselves out of their own hardware.
