Hello, Thank you for the video. Do you have an update on longevity? How is the repair lasting? Thanks, Greg

Our video on this is coming soon in our season 3. We had the same issue with our '95 Airstream, lol. Thanks for the tips and video!

Sonhow mk oong didnyiu wait befor the glue activated? Did you have to remove the foam from the ceiling before it would adhere?
@HerbBaldwin Жыл бұрын
The foam didn't stay on the ceiliing, it stayed on the vinyl material. The difficulty was getting the spray to go in far enough to do any good. It'd be great to have a spray can with a 3 or 4' long flexible nozzle tube. I only waited about 15-30 seconds, probably not long enough.

Enjoyed this and gave me some insight to our ceiling drooping and coming down in this southern heat, Glad to know the strips are able to be replaced back in the grove........basically the adhesive has come undone by the heat of the south the outside fabric is ok but the foam originally is clinging and I wonder if I can vacuum it out of whatever. Not knowing where to find the same lining fabric in this coach 91 winnabago Class A and the cost as well would be over the moon I am sure. Thanks for the tips!!! Good video.

Thank you for your video. It has helped me so much. I thought I was going to have to replace the entire ceiling. I bought the adhesive today. I'm so anxious to try it. Again THANK YOU!!!!!!

Sandy, your biggest challenge will be to get the adhesive in as far as possible into the void (the spray wand is only 6" long. The more you pull the ceiling vinyl down, the more (deeper) you have to spray. It would be good to be able to get adhesive on a small (but long) wand that you can then push way deep into the void. But I found that some adhesive is better than none. Don't pull down any add'l ceiling - if it's still glued then leave it alone.

Wish you had of shown us you actually spraying the glue. I'm not as brave as you,pulling your ceiling down

Catherine, thanks for viewing and for your comment. I wish I had been able to show more as well, but I only have two hands and one was for the camera. I need a cameraman (or woman)! The biggest problem is to get the spray in far enough, it would be great to have a 3' tube on the nozzle

@@HerbBaldwin thankyou for your reply. And thankyou for giving me the courage to attempt this

Thank you for the video! I am going to try this on my coach. Luckily it’s a small panel but it’s great info for the future if the problem pops up again.

Well done...the project and the video! You spent time filling some air leaks as well. Have you found the A/C is blowing colder?
@HerbBaldwin5 жыл бұрын
Havent noticed that its cooler, every day is different, so it's hard to tell. Outside temp varies widely as the rig is in sun and in the shade cuz of the trees. But at least the ceiling liner doesnt billow like it used to when the air is on!

We own a faith wheel that we are traveling in at this time. But we found an old Terry camper that we would like To renovate for our family. There was water damage in the front and the ceiling needs repaired. It is a curved ceiling. We tried a piece of laminated paneling but it was very difficult and does not look presentable. Do you have any suggestions on process and materials to use for this curved ceiling?

Great job. I have a sagging ceiling and planed to use the adhesive spray. Now I know it can work. Thanks.

Here's another tip. The challenge is to be able to get the adhesive far back into the gap where the vinyl ceiling cover and the backing board meet. I think if I was to do it again, I might try getting some sort of glue I could put into a small hypodermic needle and shoot directly through the cover at the spot(s) where they come together. Problem is the spray can only get back in so far. Hope it works out for you.
@timhvv4 жыл бұрын
@@HerbBaldwin , That was my thought as well. I plan to cut a tiny slit and push the nozzle through to spray between the lining and the roof. I hope since it is sagging the gap will provide room for the spray to go way back into the area. I'll let you know. I also bought a 5" roller like you used to flatten it. I had planned to buy a rolling pin until I saw what you used. I can also use that width of a roller to adhere some tape to cover areas that have potential for leaks on the roof and seems. Thanks again.

Thank you for your KZbin video. I have the same headliner problem in my 2006 Winn Adventurer. I bought the items you used for reattaching the headliner. I’m starting the repair tomorrow. How much adhesive did you stray in? Also, is your repair still holding?
@HerbBaldwin2 жыл бұрын
My repair is not still holding, it's especially obvious when the roof a/c is on (air blows in between the ceiling and the headliner). I found this video and this idea is slick! I've ordered and received the syringes and the adhesive, now to give it a shot. Follow this Link kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5WrXoiGe7t0qpI

Very informative how to.

You have a great video here, very informative of what you are going/have done. What I would have liked to see more of is the actual spraying of the glue, how it went, what you had to do to get the panel covered (the center). How the strips actually come off and go back on. Otherwise you have a good video, thanks for the information.
@HerbBaldwin4 жыл бұрын
Geoffrey, thanks so much for watching and for your comment. You are right, I wish I would have planned the video a little better. I got so involved in the actual repair, I forgot to shoot some of the work! I should have had my wife hold the camera as I was doing the work instead of trying to do both myself. The strips pop off real easy and then go back up and snap in place with a bump of your fist. The ceiling fabric on the other hand really needs to come down on 3 sides so it can be sprayed with the glue and allowed to dry a minute or two. I didn't want to take mine apart that much so I wasn't able to get the spray deep into the opening as much as I would have liked to. Also, you'll want to put up some newspaper along the adjacent wall and furniture to keep from getting overspray where you don't want it!
@sandihenning94663 жыл бұрын
Did you have to spray both the ceiling and the headliner for it to stick?
@HerbBaldwin3 жыл бұрын
Sandi, yes spray both sides, following instructions wait a bit for surfaces to get tacky, then press and roll with a linoleum roller (or similar) to get good contact

I still haven't fixed mine to my satisfaction. Now I'm going to try this method that a used car dealer uses to fix automobile headliners. I have all the supplies, just have to make the aerosol can needle/nozzle and get to the motorhome to give it a try. I'll post more once I've completed the attempt. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5WrXoiGe7t0qpI
