Any gardener will tell you there are a lot of things you can’t control as it relates to a garden. But of the things we can control, most attention is given to the soil and whatever amendments we add to it. Most gardeners are very particular about how they treat their soil. But what if the water you use to water your garden has things in it that are making your plants sick? Have you ever checked to see if it may be your water that causing some difficulties for you in the garden?
I live in a suburb northwest of Houston. But our water comes from the City of Houston municipal water supply. Well, all municipal water has various chemicals added to it in an effort to keep it free of bacteria that could make people sick. Chief among these is chlorine. Normal tap should have 4 ppm of chlorine in it, but that concentration can vary. Some plants do not tolerate chlorine, or any chlorides for that matter, very well. Any your tap water could be making your plants sick!
In this video, I will show you a simple solution to eliminate the chlorine from your tap water! It doesn’t cost anything, it’s really easy to do, and your garden will thank you for it!

I think part of the challenge is that the chlorine level fluctuates. I started testing our water with my pool testing kit and during this drought there has been some significant variation. It’s just another piece to consider. Thanks for watching!

Hi Scott, thanks for the mention, I'm so glad you've cracked the problem with your water. Avocados are looking great now. Tomatoes are really thirsty plants and can be planted deeply as this will encourage more rooting from the stems below soil level thus providing the plant with a healthier, stronger nutrient uptake. I always enjoy watching the after effects of rainfall and the difference it makes to plants is amazing to see. Until next time, keep the videos coming 😁🌱☀️
