Very much so. As a F2P player myself it's truly bliss because for someone that doesn't play every single deck and saves on gems and dust, it's essentially a free deck almost every month or two and that's not only involving the duel pass, dailies and events.

I appreciate videos like these a lot. It eases the mind of people trying to get into the game. Especially if they haven’t gotten back into Yu-Gi-Oh! over 10 years ago. It’s just kind of a shame I stopped playing the game for so long I went from Platinum to Rookie and mildly popped off. Too late to realize I was facing a beginner deck. I felt so bad realizing what I did, that when I ran into them in Bronze I hit the surrender button.

I agree with it not being pay to win cause within a month of doing dailys it is possible to get 4350 gems and if there is a festival 3100 gems from the festival itself plus what other gem quest done over time for more. With those amount of free gems available makes it not pay to win just requiring patients. Also keep up the great work your doing cause your entertaining to watch.

Making a meta deck that'll let you reach Master rank is easy and will last you half a year+ if you looked up the future meta. Everything past that is just shoring up staples/building FotM or pet decks. If we're purely arguing about whether MD is pay to win, then it blatantly ain't since you can start right now, do the beginner missions + speedrun early Solo mode and build a Tear deck in a single day.

Yeah, it's kind of bizarre that we got something that "generous" from Konami. As long as you stay well informed about how to play with and against the more popular decks, you can eventually build whatever you want and stay on top of the game every other month using the odd month to save up gems. If anyone told me that this was about to happen 2 years ago I'd laugh at their face and go back to play Tag Force. Now if you excuse me, I'll be patiently waiting until Tearlaments aren't the absurdly oppressive powerhouse in the game anymore while I play Tag Force.

It's F2P as long as you understand that you just can't have every single deck in existence like a yugituber making a video about new card released. And one more thing, you forgot to mention 10+ specific SR crafting to get 2-3 free pack and maybe get a few UR in it.

I recently started trying to get cards for Branded/ I always open 10 packs at a time because if you dont open a UR, it guaranties 1 UR in the next 10 you buy. So after opening 70 packs, I have a grand total of..... 3 URs from it Konami RNG is like plowing into a hardware store. It is very likely you will get screwed

players may think that the mission based gems run out and while this is true what wasn't mentioned in the video was the semi regular(aty least once a month) special events that earn you up to 5000 gems without too much grining. And even though those missions are themed and certain restrictions apply to the card pool, you will never be left out during the restrictive events. Masterduel will provide you with 3 loaner desk to choose from that are decent. So if you don't have the card pool for the event you don't worry, you can use the loaner decks for free as many players do

Tbh Master Duel only need a person willing to spend time to grind solo mode, ranked and the misssions a bit and they can what ever deck they want. Also 2 things you could do is events if grinded can give you 3100 gems and with thwir missions over 4k, and a good start would be to pick the link start drck since u pick a deck at the start and buy the salad structure deck from the store 3 of which means 1800gems from their get the secret pack for the cyberse deck u want to play and u have both generic cyberse support from the salad structure and the starting deck and what ever u need from ur pack which will help you build a decent deck taht can win all the way to plat for an ok cost and with the extra gems from the mission u can easily get a more meta relevant deck. Personally I have 8 different decks and still 3k gems without paying a single time.

Before I watch the vid, just going to speak my mind since this is very common knowledge, and since he probably talks about what I am going to say: THIS GAME IS NOT PAY TO WIN! - daily missions gives you 205 gems per day (40 each mission, 5 for watching a replay) - events gives you 5000 gems on average - ranking up a single division gives you 100-400 gems - there are lifetime missions like "Log in" or "watch a duel" or "level up" things you do naturally. - Also, don't say after a while lifetime missions are done, and there's less gems to earn because by that time, you should own a HUGE portion of everything you want + daily's still available, if not, than every card until another update drops IMO, they game would be a rip-off to pay for gems unless you want to support the creators, than by all means go ahead, but I would rather grind and have fun than pay $2 to get a pack or $19 to get slightly more than the 10 pack deal. Also there was no toxicity or salt when writing this post, I just feel very strong about the fact that this is a game that highly rewards just playing and having fun over spending money for advantages like other games do.

Here is a thing about master duel, it is very FTP friendly, if you use your mind and think logically, you can get a decent deck every month and if you upgrade your deck then every two months, you can get a very good deck as long as you are smart with your gems and crafting materials

Even better don't be smart with your gems lol. I just keep getting cosmetics because I like to be dropped out while I summon Ra, slifer and obelisk or utopia which ever I'm feeling that day (note I made 2 different decks, they are not in the same deck)

in my experience after completing one deck(in my case ddd, so not as many ur and sr) it becomes a long and tedious grind for another deck. now imagine i was trying to keep up with the meta, therefor building whatever is good right now and once a new meta comes up i need to build a new deck. one deck is fine, because of how generous md is, two decks there are still enough resources but it takes a long grind, three decks this might be the point were someone would pay money, so that it doesnt take months for completing another deck. at least staples can take away some of the grind(like every deck plays 3 ashblossom).

Honestly, as new for Yugioh player, Master Duel is surprisingly generous, even Legends of Runeterra doesn't allow for much free to play accessories and while it helped that I got into it when first anniversary came and I got all into Eldlich, it is still less exhausting or overwhelming unlike with Duel Links where I still don't understand how to get some cards without pay.

honestly. I did spend a starting amount, but I built a deck that has a general effectiveness against meta, along with meta staples, and the daily missions and the gold pass, became the easiest thing ever. now I have like 9k SR and 1800 UR

I started around 6 months ago and while my spendings were not wise at all (made a Blue Eyes deck first, ignoring the staples, went ham on non valuable structure decks, investing in bricky archetypes...) I finally pulled myself together and in one month and a half, managed to build myself a Branded, Dragonlink and Punk deck, with a good amount of Bystials to splash everywhere and the full big 8 package And I still have a lot of solo content to clear (I suck at clearing them with the loaner decks)

The solo duels that actually have gem rewards are usually the side thar lets you switch to your own personal deck fyi. I played game on launch and also foolishly went ham on blue eyes...now have over 20 decks.

More F2P friendly than a lot of "big" game in these times, I buyed R6 siege and still had to grind a lot for character and equipment, after many years make them free without nothing for player who already have them especially people with the bundle with the charactera

If you have 4 hours to spare you can literally make a new account, Build a budget crusadia ftk and breeze through the solo mode that nets you enough gem to make a new deck as long as the pack is available and just craft the staples, I usually prioritize maxx C and ash the rest can be at 2 till you craft enough and with the surplus SR chips you can fish for UR chips by abusing the free pack after unlocking it, Theres a list on the subreddit about the cards that open multiple packs.

It is p2w, you pay for gems to buy packs, which gives advantage to those who pay. Sure, you can grind gems free, about 140 a day, so 10 days of grinding for 10 packs and hope for sr/ur drops. Alternatively, you can pay 18.95 and get 14 draws. The battlepass sucks, gives tons of n/r dust, but only 100 ur.

It isn't a completely pay to win game, but a F2P player will have a bit more grinding to do compared to the players who blow money on gems. However, the crafting system and generous events and daily missions tend to keep F2P players up to speed (mostly) in terms of building a meta/rogue deck. As a F2P player myself, I was able to complete labrynth within the last monster festival and am halfway through generaider with no crafting yet needed. You do have and easier time making new accounts or spending money, however, as it significantly reduces to grind to nothing.

Slitely P2W, It's just like Konami isn't just that greedy enough milking everyone so bad. The game is being so generous to their casual gamer and low-spending customers in my opinion though. However, if the game is not a P2W, why's that the game's a top-up gem system implemented in-game currency for if there's abundance? Yugioh is a very competitive card game ever since, as well as every other else's card game to the point that many devoted duelist players put their money just to buy real cards to build a well-oiled deck to compete. Konami still knows that there are still so many competitive players out there who's still gonna toss lots of bucks for the sake of winning in-game despite of the game's showing generosity to everybody. They're which Konami's real target market, it's what it's all for. Turning themselves into which Konami's milking cow.

Not yet, if Konami keep their habits, the answer is not yet. . What makes it "cheap" is how easy you make new account or you can keep your gems for "good Deck" in TCG or OCG. But if someday the card pool is not really different, or the banlist make MD very different with paper one, this will be difficult to keep your gems. . If Konami keep their habits, make 1 deck too dominant for months, make it full of UR/SR, and no secret pack. The older account will struggle to get those new decks.

Pre-watching, I think Master Duel is pay-to-win faster. Anything you can pay for, you can also build for free with some patience. I would argue Master Duel is one of the most F2P friendly games out right now.

I don't think it is pay to win as someone who doesn't pay to get gems. I don't play super competitive decks like Branded or Tearlaments but I've made roughly six decks and do believe it is possible to make really good decks without paying a single penny.
