I adore the entire Zone of the Enders way more than Metal Gear Solid and that's not the bash the other however I do agree being a avid fan of the Z.O.E Series from the very beginning, like every other storyline anywhere else does indeed have its flaws and boy are they heavy thoughout! Metatron, the life force depicted in this game. I just adore everything about the behind the scenes aspect of it. It's just so cool! I hate ding-bat (as I like to call him) to the point of no return. But what I will point out is that I hate Viola the most in this entire series. She's such a naive girl in the anime movie prequel but a b*tch to battle against within the video games series if you don't know what you're doing. She is however very fun to fight if you do know what you're doing, 😁 it never gets old. I will always adore Leo and I was pissed off as I realize I had to fight him. Don't get me started on when he tried to take on Anubis and well..... yeah ☹ Overall it's not the best game in most eyes and I swear if they decide sometime in the future to reboot the series for some reason, please don't screw it up Konami!

How is viola a bitch in the OVA? that's straight up bullshit lmao she's in the background most of the time, has an unreciprocated crush on the protagonist, and a tragic backstory. The OVA basically explains why she's such a bastard in the original game but in the OVA she's nothing but adorable.

That dude has no interest in her. Right off the back he calls her his friend (implying to her directly "hey I only see you as a friend. That's it.") and yet she still continues her actions. I get the whole caring about your friend and whatnot but she was still persisted by trying to cross that line. Having a crush on someone is fine but once a person makes it clear that they don't care to the point of obsession then they are pretty much any bad word (curse word or not).

The first one is a glorified tech demo. The second is one of the most polished action games EVER made.

I really like the second game. The first was really rough, but the second was so refined in comparison. Unlike what you claimed in this review I found the combat system to have surprising depth, variety and enjoyability. The visuals were also way ahead of their time. I do agree with you on the story and VA parts, they where kinda just there, but the game was imo not ment as a storydriven game as much as a gameplaydriven game. Yeah, nowadays we have both, but back then it wasn't as expected.

I loved this game but I grew up on gundam. I enjoyed every second I got to pilot jehuty as a kid its nostalgic. Def has a good setting, feeling music, and environment, and feel.

"Short lived anime series" - how was it short lived exactly? It ran for the 24 episodes it was supposed to run for and told a completed story. It lived exactly as long was intended. And it was fantastic. Half family comedy, half mecha action war story.

Just wanna point out, Zone of the Enders 1 was tossed aside a lot because people only wanted the demo disc. Many copies got resold without the demo. People just straight up bought ZoE, took the MGS disc out and resold it immediately. My copy was a resold one, even. The fact that Konami did the same for ZoE HD and MGR was not a good thing, felt more like a slap in the face, like they were trying to be funny by referencing what happened to the first game. Adding to this, ZoE 2 had a special edition for EU and JP, but not for NA, whereas the HD edition had a collector's edition for JP and NA and not for EU. A lot of how Konami handled this franchise is just painful. EDIT: Also, some of your misgivings seem to be about you being flat-out bad at the game, lmao. I agree these two games have extremely simple combat, but you're complaining about enemy i-frames when you can break them (burst, grab and a lot of subweapons) and that you don't have i-frames (shield...). Idk man.

Am I the only one who prefer the cgi cutscenes? I have no problem with the anime ones but ever since technology has improved a lot, for example look at games like the final fantasy remake. If they ever make a new one they should go back to that style as it won’t look as off as it did to the limitations at that time

Now try the 2nd...wasn't a huge fan of the first one, Jehuty itself is the only reason I got through it...but I still love and play 2 from time to time, and it has some interesting Easter eggs for a game so old
