Also, this is one of my favourite games of all time. This is up there with Devil May Cry 5, Gunstar Heroes, Ikaruga, Radiant Silvergun and Alien Soldier. It's just perfect action goodness. I play this at least once a year. I then sit in survival mode for several hours working out all of that pent up existential rage.

One thing I liked about this game, is that the combat was more about mastering movement than other action games of the time. Also, if you hit L3 whenever ada says something during gameplay, Dingo usually retorts with something himself.

I have been playing the original on Ps2. You summed it up perfectly.

cant wait to see one of your videos couple of months further... the state of your subs should by then atleast around the 900+ i predict seriously check this list i figured out about your videos after this and your dead aim video: -soothing voice to listen to (not monotone etc.) - good information about the game (series) you are reviewing -while mostly serious the comical commentary from now and then feels refreshing. when did you start doing videos on YT? i have around 100 subs more then you right now and it took me 5 years to get to that level of subs.. in short i have high hopes for you, awesome videos..

jerpamithe1 Wow thank you so much for this comment! Anyway, I started this channel about two years ago, but I only started taking reviews seriously 8 months ago. So technically I haven't been around for that long. And again, thanks! This is by far one of the nicest comments I've ever gotten.

Yes I am going to comment on this 5 year old video because how can you review ZOE and ZOE2 and not mention the music at all.

Man, you don't use burst or subweapons at all. It's kind of weird to see, especially since they streamlined it so much for 2nd Runner. What in the world do you think the original did better than 2nd Runner, though? That line baffled me.
@thorhighheels5 жыл бұрын
I prefer the style. 2nd Runner's locations can seem a bit dull. Easily the better game though, but that doesn't mean the first can't have it's own appeal still.

3:16 to 3:20 I'm shitting myself with that one. So far, I'm leaning more to the first game, but it's definitely rough around the edges. If it got the same treatment and polish as the second game, then it would no doubt be a favourite for me.

Are you kidding me? It doesn't make the first game obsolete? It absolutely does. It does literally everything better than the first game. It doesn't have backtracking and a map where you pick which area to visit, but the former was tedious and the latter didn't matter because almost each area was completely the same and there's not a lot of them.
@thorhighheels6 жыл бұрын
Just because the second game is better in most aspects doesn't mean that the original doesn't' have it own appeals still.
@Happytreefriendsfan36 жыл бұрын
The only reason anyone should even play the original is so that he can understand the story in the sequel better. Even if you argue that someone wants a game with a structure like ZoE1 (where you have a map and pick which levels to play), it doesn't mean a thing if the game has so little content. ZoE1 should have been a part of ZoE2, with each map actually looking unique, as opposed to the same few city maps, two samey valley maps and one excellent river valley map (almost looks like something out of ZoE2).

@Heavy Metal Collector I would know, as I played the PS3 HD collection.

Such a shame man... Tbh Zone of the Enders was really the reason why I wanted to buy a PS2.
@germa90902 жыл бұрын
@Duncan MacLeod Ok... I can see your point I guess. But remember at that time we didn't have nothing like it. Ps2 was brand new and the only game I could recognize was Metal Gear Solid 2 and some cool Eve of extinction pictures oh and Tekken Tag. So when my 9 year old brain saw Zone of Enders with those sweet graphics on a promotional screen for the first from a game store and the same creators of Metal Gear I was blown away. I had to have a Ps2 console. And the game with those awesome moves and graphics also convinced my dad to buy it for me. I only had to keep up my grades that was the deal. But yea sure, once you play the game itself as a grown up it's basic and short. But man, I had a good time not gonna lie. It was like Gundam wing. So yea, we had our childhood. I hope you had yours.
