Have you tried changing the ACIS activation point? I can see that you have been playing with the VVT-i but this engine also has a variable length intake manifold, a variation of the Toyota T-VIS called ACIS (Acoustic Control Induction System). It's a solenoid that operates a vacuum actuator and moves a butterfly inside the intake manifold, this re-routes the air through a longer path, effectively creating long or short runners for low or high RPM operation. I don't know if the stock ECU is still operating this system with the piggy back, but it may be worthwhile to fiddle with it. You can bypass the ECU and activate the solenoid directly to change to the short air path and see if the performance in high RPMs is improved, just to test. In the stock 1G-FE (My daily is an IS200 and this supercharger kit should be arriving to my home in a couple of days :)) you can feel the change in performance at about 4500 RPMs, when the ECU changes the ACIS to shorter intake runners, it's very noticeable. The dyno graph shows a very steady increase and no bump at this RPMs, so that is why I'm wondering if the system is being used. I guess that the ACIS works with the VVT-i in the intake cam to get the most out of the engine, so it must be harder to tune than a normal VVT-i engine. I've been with this car for some years now and I know it very well, don't hesitate to ask :D. I love how it handles with the double wishbone suspension front and rear. Anyways, nice videos, keep up the good work! Regards from Spain!

@vanepico
@vanepico 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah seems rather sketchy. An NA car is going to be very dependent on the intake it was designed to have, with the flow characteristics. Just opening up the intake to the throttle body will alter the volumetric efficiency a lot, not to mention not using the factory vvt settings, that is probably why the torque curve looks so fucked.

According to rank ones website with the 150mm pulley you could expect 0.5- 0.55 bar or roughly 7-8 psi and a max of 240 HP depending on engine health. Given Bennys info of 4 psi and 134 HP , charging my is200 doesn't seem worth it for ~$3500 plus shipping? Even with a well used engine the gain from what i could have expected has made me loose interest with Bennys video. Maybe with the 1ZZ injectors and punched out pre cats might help but wow. Still a very entertaining video! rankoneperformance.com/collections/lexus/products/lexus-is200-supercharger-kit-incl-eaton-m62-sc-unit-1?variant=7337563521085

Pavel Lipski no but it has half the capacity and half the cylinders. It occurs to me that the blower is likely not the best choice due to the parasitic losses incurred but driving it from the crank. a turbo would likely get you an extra 30% power I think.

Fantastic video. Little puzzled by the bhp with a charger though. Here in the uk they are 155 bhp standard. I miss mine.
