You know there is a whole lot of background to this fact that he is shagird of pd. Hariprasad chaurasiya, there was a series telecasted on DD named Naad Bhed which was anchored by shabana azmi and judged by legends like pd. Hari prasad chaurasiya, vidushi girija devi, begum parveen sultana, vidhushi prabha atre and other judges, there salim participated in child instrumentalists category and he went on winning the show in child instrumentalists category in that show only pd hariprasad ji gavi him his own flute as gift and after that he became shagird of pandit ji to learn more about flute.
