Such wonderful combinations of strength, technique, grace and flexibility; seeing Elena Mukhina makes me very sad, and makes me realise what a tragic and unnecessary loss her passing was:( RIP Elena♥ Tatiana Gutsu's dismount is probably the most difficult dismount ever done on beam.

Good to see the era when gymnastics had artistry,flexibility and fluid moves and not the trick-stunt-trick-rolling hands really fast of today. Some champions today couldn't do dance moves to save their lives, so stiff and focused in acrobatics they are. The same is starting to happen wirh Ice skating

At 3:19 that is Natalia Shaposhnikova. She was a great gymnast from the late 70s and early 80s. One of my favorites.

@@PHlophe and girls form nowadays couldn't compete in 70s/80s and even 90s because they have not grace and flexibility and even technique, they only have strenght. For example Biles is lika a robot every step she's done is robotic, you can't see she enjoy her performance at all. Compared her and girls from 70s/80s on the beam you can see such a difference from elegance, body shape etc....

Brilliant! 🎉❤ I wish our gymnastics was like this today! I'm so tired of the routines and the judging! Return to THESE kind of routines! Get rid of the awful wolf turn and do the handstand split full-turn! That was so beautiful to watch! These gymnasts were amazing! Thank you for sharing this splendid video! 🎉❤

Excelentes jovencitas, potencia, gracia, elegancia y movimientos sutiles. Gimnasia artistica femenina, en la actualidad es mas diferente como que quieren rivalizar con la gimnasia masculina y se ve algo grotesco.

La gimnasia de antes era mucho más elegante que la actual, en la que prima la fuerza bruta sobre el estilismo. En la actualidad hay auténticas campeonas que rompen esquemas pero con movimientos más bruscos. Éstas gimnastas hacen figuras de una dificultad tremenda en cuanto a equilibrio y fuerza sin perder la delicadeza
