I subscribe to a program at Ryan Leech Connection MTB course. They have a wheelie course, but I eventually ran into issues with my single speed u brake bike. The big tip I got from you is to feather or ride the brake while getting the wheel up. I was looping out on start because my rear brake was not strong enough to stop me from going over. Starting with the brake on was the ticket to getting up into the balance point without going over.

@malinoisdogtraining3441 Жыл бұрын
@Philip Henderson ya but now my balls are smaller and smarter. I looped it big time.i was using the handbrake but not enough. Didn't land on my feet like I did when younger. Got Ione foot down and the other leg was bent and folded.only thing that hurt was my leg and ankle. That spooked my confidence. So I'm going to lower the seat a bit and keep trying. I had my seat very high cause I have long legs.dont know if that will help a successful bail out and land on two feet.

@@colinearle1172 It would be fine but not as easy to wheelie, it would easier to break, heavier, not as cool or good looking, and would be noticeable cheaper looking and feeling, but it still works but I wouldn’t really recommend Walmart bikes for anything besides cruising and riding around, between cheap and bad quality, and bad people putting them together, I wouldn’t put any big stress on besides riding and cruising, but it still does wheelie even though I would only recommend good bikes from online or at a bike shop.

@BigBikeBMX3 жыл бұрын
Short answer: No. go with the Cult and buy 8-9 inch handlebars and it’ll feel like the BMX bikes we rode as kids. As for height/weight issues. You’re good to go. I’m 5’11” and 220 and ride a 26, 27.5, and a 29. They’re all comfy with taller bars. Honestly, after you start riding, you won’t be 220 for long. I dropped 30 lbs in six months just rolling around and riding to work before Covid.

If you’re chasing, get comfortable sitting back further. Seat height can help dial it in too. Try raising/lowering and see how that changes things.

@BigBikeBMX3 жыл бұрын
Take the cranks off and grease any metal-on-metal parts. For the seat, take the seat apart and put it back together and see if that fixes it. Mine would get loose and I took the bolt all the way out and put it back and it’s stayed tight ever since 🤘

Here’s my advice: 1. Get the bars and seat set how you like them. 2. Start in the easiest gear to pedal and start getting a feel for popping up and feathering hydraulic brakes with one finger. 3. Gradually increase the gear difficulty until you’re popping up in a normal cruising gear. Fast rippers and duros are great for practicing because you can let your leg muscles get stronger as you’re learning so it’s a faster process. Have fun🤘

the only way to find out is to try it, so go to a bike shop which supplies big bmx bikes or find a friend who has one to try it out. if you cant do either of those then buy an se bike and if you dont like it then return it. after that if you find that you dont like big bmx bikes then something like a collectives c100 wheelie bike which is essentially a mountain bike which is tweaked stock for wheelies
