It's the same every year. I'm from Sweden and I talked about the German ESC bashing with many ESC fans from around the world. ESC fans are aware of this. If this happens again this year Germany should leave the ESC. Italy did it many years ago, returned after a long time and now they have excellent results. It's a shame what happens with Germany and they don't deserve these very bad results. My family, friends and I will vote for Isaak and Germany because it's not fair at all. We saw the German final and Isaak was one of our three favorites and he deserves a good ESC result.

Thanks for your comment. I am German, no big fan of this year's entry BUT it's a decent song, Isaak is an authentic person and good singer and I just feel like we don't get a fair chance anymore. I used to love Eurovision but this is no longer an enjpyable contest if Germany is always the loser and blamed for doing everything wrong. The Geman audience has already lost interest in this contest and sooner or later we will leave the ESC completely. There are enough other and more important problems to solve in our country and beyond...

I'm German and try to be neutral. I'm generally not interested in where a song comes from, I'm more interested in the presentation and the song. This year there's a lot of catcalling and Euro trash, admittedly. But the fact that Germany screws it up every year is simply because they don't make an effort. Every time someone comes on stage with no experience. Isaak also looks like he's been asked to dress up completely for 50 euros. He trudges across the stage and bemoans his fate in his song. Why should I like that? Serious question.

Sweden*. Swedish producers and song-writers are over-represented in popular music internationally in general, and arguably Swedish people are responsible for the modern pop music sound(you can either blame or thank Max Martin in particular, depending on how you feel about the genre). Remember Arcade? Swedish song-writer. Fuego? A Swede in the credits there as well. Swedes are all over the song-writing credits of the ESC every goddamn year. As a Swede, it's fun and all, but it also probably waters down the cultural diversity of the competition quite a bit. If everyone wants to hire some Swede to create a potential commercial hit, we will be missing out on the future Verka Serduchkas and hard rock hallelujahs. If you want to pretend it is just favouritism or some grand conspiracy at play, I can't really stop you, but Sweden truly needs neither of those things to be ahead of the curve in the ESC. Sweden would maybe have sent this a decade or so ago, because that is where this belongs. In the past. This song is not particularly interesting or memorable. The stage show is an AI generated screen saver or something. But, you never know with the ESC. He's a good singer. Maybe he'll have a particularly good night on the night of the finale, and people really enjoy it?

I'm not German (was watching the show from Belgium) so I think I might be more objective than all those Germans that were routing for someone else... they had actually a lot of good songs in their competition but to me this one definitely stood out as well for the reasons you just mentioned.

I would like to say something about the song: I feel really connected to the lyrics and I think a lot of people feel that way at the moment. We live in uncertain times, we often don't know "where to go" with ourselves. Where do we stand? Where will we go? What is the meaning of life? Always searching... Always on the run. Despite this, the song is so positive, strong, powerful and conveys a certain spirit of optimism. The song gives me hope. Isaak has a very strong voice and great charisma. I wish Germany lots of points and will be voting.

Disagree. This song isn't positive. It is all about negativity. See the lyrics: "I'm always on the run, run, run, run. Close, but never done, done, done, done. I can't break out when I'm free. Lost in my own identity. I'm on the run, run, run, run." or "Who am I fighting for? Get out of my head, I'm so sick and tired! Can't do this anymore." Just because you can "relate" to the lyrics, doesn't make a song a positive song, when it's all about, what one "can't do"! But you can correct me: where is the positive message, you seemingly see in these lyrics? Out of my perspective: a depressing song from a depressing stage presence with a depressing stage show in the background. Germany = 0 Points!

I was checking the detailed german translation and believe me, it wouldn't be better in German. ;-) That's a typical song text, which is made by using english phases. If you translate it to German, it sounds weird. ;-)
