he is in GOD MODE. Total flow. I would guess he has been practising using his ears and musicality, not just a fucus on technique, but applied technique. If I could dare a comparison, Thomas Lang is somebody who has raw technique. This man applies it with deep musicality woven into his technique.

This works for samba, ok!? For baião you can use 1,2,3. This is what we use.
