Cheers for this, Isac. It serves to remind us that, no matter how polished the end performance, a serious amount of work and effort goes into making the finished product seem so effortless. For those in the early stages of learning, never let yourself get to the point of utter frustration...simply put down the guitar and walk away. Only return to it when you've calmed yourself. It's truly incredible how often you get right what had previously been causing no end of problems. Sometimes it's not the hands that are the problem but the head.

This gave me a huge confidence boost. I always assumed musicians like you record in one session or with barely any retries so whenever I mess up I get mad and upset because I end up thinking that i’m terrible when in reality all it takes is a few tries for the perfect shot. This also made me laugh my ass off so thank you for that as well.

Neither did I... so I wanted to show everyone that I'm not a perfect and in fact make a lot of mistakes. It doesn't matter if you're a beginner or a professional, mistakes and fails will always happen along the way and right before the end, it's a part of practice. We should enjoy the journey, no matter how bumpy it is, no matter how much you want to throw the guitar into a wall. Never give up :)

@IsacSalehGuitar
@IsacSalehGuitar 5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I got some weird stress illness from prolonged stress since 2011 (intense stress 2014-2017) and frequent antibiotic uses. Messed up my stomach, gallbladder and made me chronically fatigued, got reflux, candida overgrowth, asthma, viruses, heart palpitations, panic attacks, loss of appetite and other cozy stuff I had to battle since the summer of 2017. Which explains the drop in weight (10kg), loss of hair and less frequent uploads on YT. I basically went through hell during the second half of 2017 and accepted my fate if I would die lol... It shows that I'm tired in the Kaer Morhen video, which was the last one I did before the "long break". But now it's getting better with change of diet, exercise, digestive enzymes and beatine hcl, if ever so slowly. It takes time to repair damage that has been ongoing silently for so long. I'm ok with that as long as I can do what I love :) So, learn from my mistake and don't stress for too long together with the standard diet and being sedentary and don't eat antibiotics unless you have a serious infection with high fever. It can fuck you up immensely in the long run. It starts slowly with swollen gut or "stress belly" together anxiety, shallow breathing and being light headed at work or after exercise. Then after a couple of years you can get a virus, tick bite or an infection and it will make you crash totally with CFS, IBS and whatnot. NOT worth it.
@Haldiri
@Haldiri 5 жыл бұрын
@@IsacSalehGuitar Sorry to know that and kinda understand, i went through tough stressful times (Job and family related) last few years. Sudden weird symptoms, stomach pain and palpitations as well as other weird feelings in chest area etc. I went and did full check up couple of times during the last few years. 2016, one doctor told me that i really need to change my life style, i.e. sleep early and not less than 8 hours, do daily exercises like weight lifting and jogging as well as things like cross fit (endorphin rush is the key) and ALWAYS eat healthy clean food, basically try to use my brain and be smart in living :D. Since then i dropped ~10kg through excising and eating well. On and off since then but results are great with less stress overtime and i feel much better. I guess we perminantly need to keep our lifestyle as good and rational as possible. I always hated antibiotics and rarely took them and a i even hate them more now. I wish you a stress free, athletic and healthy life :)

I'm happy you decided to put the bloopers or the "non perfect side of a musical record. It is revealing you show that beyond a very perfect and clean musical execution recorded on camera, there is a lot of frustrating attepmts to play a flwaless piece. It takes a lot of work to mastery an musical instrument. Many begginers wonder how people can play so effortless and perfect musical pieces. Well this is the part people don't see: months or years of practicing.

This is true.. Sometimes you just have to sleep on it and come back refreshed and relaxed. I noticed for some reason that the first couple of takes sound best then.

"What's annoying is that when finishing practice off-camera I do very little to no mistakes, since I'm very focused. Then, as soon as I switch on the camera all possible mistakes happen because I get self conscious about where I should look, if I should smile, that I can't take too many takes or the battery of my phone will finish etc, losing my focus time and time again." I would suggest filming all the time when you practice then.
