Whilst i dont think there is anything wrong with Arsenal fans admiring Issak's ability and wanting to sign him (who wouldnt?), i find a proportion of their fan base remarkably arrogant. Almost as they could simply pluck him away at the drop of a hat because he would leave Newcastle for Arsenal in a heartbeat. Its excellent that Issak has eloquently dispelled this mindset. Its still apparently very diffcult for people to comprehend that Newcastle is a completly diffrent proposition these days, and the future is extremly bright. Its not just the quality of players we have, but the exciting brand of football we play, the intensity that underpins the clubs culture. The outstanding running of the club with the expansion of commercial ventures and global impact. The incredible atmosphere and support which is palpable simply by stepping foot into the city. We are delivering on all fronts in such a short space of time. I honestly think we are in for a very satisfying transfer window and an exciting season. Cheers for the updates as always Paul!

Thank God This is a Big Bonus for us it gives us time to prepare for other positions in the league new positilns to be improved especially the right wing I miss miggy in the 22/23 season in october he was on fire if he was always like that he wpuld always start but its time for an upgrade

The players wouldn't have been happy but my suspicion is that for both clubs it is accounting related, eg both needed to cover a shortfall before June 30 which is why I expect us to sign Kelly in June but nothing else until after July 1 (including Lewis Hall)

Good stuff and agree, some people are saying we are in "crisis' because we missed Europe but while it is a setback and a dissapointment it's hardly a crisis as we have only made Europe once and the cost structure of the squad etc isn't based on European participation - yet. Isaks sentiments reflect the perspective that we are a club heading in the right direction and things may be helped if Man City are successful in having related party sponsorships struck down we have scope to get immediate lucrative income from things like training kit sponsors etc

For such a young lad, Alex Isak has shown a wisdom beyond his years by staying with a club going places, with a manager who can develop him. It’s a hell of a vote on confidence in Eddie H, and Isak sets an example for other players to follow

Good news on the Isak front. There will be plenty of tissues in North London being used! We are at some point going to have to increase players wages to attract and keep players. It will be probaly be done increamentally. Williams is on E200000=£171000 at current exchange rate which is £11000 per week more than Bruno. We could give him the same wages as Bruno or even £170000pw to start this rise process and with at least £5M signing on fee this would give him a rise over what he is on now. As you say with various bonuses this could be pushed higher and make an attractive package and send a positive message to other players we are interested in.

Completely agree Paul, as an ex-season ticket holder and living in Aus for 7 years, I would’ve never given up on the opportunity to see the team in Melbourne ( 2 hour flight away). But even we were confused with the timing and questioning it, was far too soon, at least that 1st game was better than the second 🫣

Paul are you not worried that when brunos release clause is finished at the end of this month a top club will come in in july and offer £80m that may tempt Bruno. E.g. barca or real? Meaning we lost out on £20m

Clubs can offer whatever they like whenever they like but if a release clause is matched it has to be accepted, if we aren’t accepting owt less than £100 mil with the release clause it wouldn’t make sense to start considering it when it’s gone

I think the club will flat out reject it mate and I doubt Bruno would take issue with that. I honestly think the only club that Bruno would really have to consider is city at this stage in his career. However, I agree with Paul's evaluation that it would be a 50/50 if he goes as he clearly loves it here.

​@@MrUtopianDellusionsI think Mbuemo would be a good upgrade on Almiron, based on his stats, he's better in pretty much every way. As you say, he can play RW and up front which gives us greater versatility too. A front 3 of Gordon, Isak and Mbuemo would give most defences an extra headache cos of unpredictability due to all being comfortable swapping positions. I would still like a new ST to act as a backup to Isak, as we need to sell Wilson while we can still get money for him. He l's been a good player for us but his age and injury tecord means now is the time to sell.
