For the cost of that thing I can buy about five simple halogen bulb based smart discharge units that do use the balance port to get cells down together smoothly without risking a cell going too low. Five 3-in-1 discharger/balancer units equals 750 watts of discharge power, perfect for the quad pilot with tons of batteries to maintain.

I use one and very happy with it. It does not have a balance lead but when you fly yours packs you have the same result. Just keep your eyes on it

Fantastic review, Lee! 😃 I'm asking myself if it would be difficult to make something like this with a balance plug... 🤔
@leadfoot11315 жыл бұрын
Nice video Lee, but as you say the lack of a balance port is a definite oversight. If you have an slightly unbalanced battery you could end up with a dead cell. if you use one of these I advise checking your balance levels first. Think I'll stick to my M8 for my charging/discharging needs, although this needed calibrating out of the box.

This with a balance port would be ideal. Shame on ISDT!

Just ordered one of these don’t really care that it doesn’t have a balance plug because I am only going to use it if I have some of my very high power batteries for my trucks that I charge up and it up not using I always balance charge them when I charge and if I’m only dropping them to say 3.8 or 3.9 bolts to put them into storage I don’t see a problem it will definitely save me hours of time

Thanks for a good review. I got the feeling that both FD-200 and BD200 are good buys. Which one is your pic and why?

I use the BD200 here.. Happy flying!

The cellpro 8 charge can discharge to storage charge at 10 amp using the internal resistor and 40 amps if the current can be used to charge a lead acid/gel battery (regenerative charge) You can also create a profile to discharge to other voltages/ cell That is a 8 year old design. The new "bump" version has a id label for each pack and logs the performance of those batteries. That also includes the preferred charge program for that pack so you only have to conform and start charging That has been around for over 2 years now. And yes for those inclined you can also control those bump chargers from your phone or check the charge status within the bluetooth range.

Love everything except NO BALLANCE OPTION... LOVE THE isdt h605 air and it actually shows you each cell and has a balance Port I wonder why they would remove that for a higher end product

Hi Lee, I know I would have to make an adapter, however after that is this safe to discharge a 650mah 4s lipo with XT30

Yes, that should be fine... Happy flying!

Are there any discharger that discharges using the balance port of the battery? Discharging only by total voltage instead of individual cells seems a bit risky to me.

Still looking for one - if you spot one please let me know..

you set the cut off voltage yourself on a BD200 so you can with a bit of practice get the end voltage to what ever you want.
@Painless3605 жыл бұрын
That's true but a discharger should be good enough to get to the desired discharge voltage perfectly everytime on it's own - otherwise, what's the point in it?
@locoworks81795 жыл бұрын
@@Painless360 true, but if you are discharging at max current the cells can sag and then bounce up a bit, and people have their own ideas as to what the final voltage should be, the icharger range let you set the cut off voltage for storage so there must be variations somewhere. depending on what amperage i'm discharging at, usually 1C, for 3s packs i set the voltage on my BD200 to 11.1v so 3.7v per cell but when the batteries come off they are closer to 3.8 volts after a little while.
@Painless3605 жыл бұрын
Exactly my point. It shouldn't be discharging at that higher current for the whole time - if should ramp it down as it gets towards the 3.8v per call. As this one must be doing..

Agreed, with out checking the individual cells it can damage an older battery as well a risk of fire. I consider this very high risk if one is not knowledgeable! Shame on you ISDT, one can always tell a manufacturer/seller that cares more about profit than there products/ life and property of there customers! it not to late....ISDT, add the balance Tech. you will sell even more units.

Total lack of insight into the hobby. For that price it should discharge and balance the cells to 3.8v. It's a paper weight!
