Your DIY HP servers power supply can be combined in series for 24.6 volts but you have to DC isolate float the ground on one of them. You just use plastic m3 washers and bolts otherwise the DC ground will be short-circuited to the case

@alishanmao You need longer cables FFS! (Not the ones coming off batteries, of course.) This is definitely not your fault, as it is the companies that make chargers, power supplies, and parallel boards. With cables so goddamned short, its like saying "Hey, if any of batteries happen to catch on fire during a charge, would you please also burn up my charger and power supply at the same time, and destroy EVERYTHING as quickly as possible?!" I absolutely hate the typical cable lengths on chargers and power supplies. Make some lengthy cable extensions for the charger and / or parallel boards, so that: 1. You have PLENTY of cable length between the charger and / or parallel board so that if a battery goes up in flames, you at least have a flying fucking chance to at least save your charger or power supply! 2. With added cable length to extend out distance for the batteries from everything else, it now allows you insert the batteries into a fireproof bag while charging (AND without the unnecessary adding of charging equipment because the cables are two fucking short). On a side note, using a rack server power supply for power on most chargers (especially this one), is a huge waste of charger money. You are powering it with only 12V. If you want to charge at 24V, then you need TWO of these power supplies, then need to wire them in parallel. When doing so, you have to remove the internal ground on one of the power supplies, replace all the board mounting screws / standoffs with nylon to prevent the board from getting regrounded, otherwise you will cause a short and fire with your power supplies. Because of this, I do not recommend this type of power supply solution, even though it may be tempting on the price. It is much better to get a power supply that is intentionally built with the purpose of 24V output. Morevoer, server power supplies are extremely loud. Get a quality 24V power supply and not only run safer, it will run quieter, and with less chance of electrical shock, short, or power supply fire. It is just not worth the risk.

So I know this is 3 years old . But I have the user p10 . I want to use it at the flying field. The switching power supply can I run it off a 400w 12v to 120 v power inverter or would I need a higher wattage output thanks man .
@alishanmaoАй бұрын
if you charge high capacity batteries you will need higher wattage and higher amp providing power supply. but i would suggest, just use a big 6s 22000MAh battery and charge all you can on the field without any power supply
@channelsixtysix0662 жыл бұрын
Do not like AC/DC chargers. I prefer to keep the power supply separate to the chargers. Even better, just have single-channel chargers. So if one goes down, you won't lose the two of them when you need to repair it.

By the specification of the charger it supports a maximum input current of 35A, so a source of at least 28V is required to operate at full power. Even a 24V source does not meet the charger as it will only deliver 840W.
@James-sf1ci3 жыл бұрын
The iSDT P30 is rated at 60A input current, so it would require 25V to operate at full power (1500W max). You may have been thinking of the P20, which is rated at 35A input current.

No they did that because if you put a power supply inside of the charger big enough to supply that much power it would make the charger on reasonably priced and monstrous to get the full potential out of this charger you need at least a 24 V power supply they can push a minimum of 40 A of current or you will know we get the peak performance out of this charger it’s called ohms law it’s easy to do the calculations

I have one of these chargers on its way to me. I want to charge 6S 5000mah packs at 10A 2 at a time. Will I have to have a 24V power supply? This is getting expensive. I should have just bought a Hyperion 700 duo. I use it at home and can do what I need. These charger will be for at the field.

Thanks for review, I like your channel very much. I sent my P30 charger back after it got stuck during a firmware update via bluetooth and was no longer working. even a renewed update with an apparently fixed version could not provide a remedy. i have the feeling that the software is still very unstable. I was not used to something like this from isdt, especially since the key features are very appealing.

mine took like an hour to update the firmware, but i left it alone with my phone next to it. and it was done. works superb.

You dont charge with another battery. You use a High end Power supply in order to charge at 30A per channel or 50A in Syncronous mode. As well as the option to charge smaller packs from a big 10,000 or 20,000Mah lipos while at the field. But guys that Race use big highend packs that require high amperages and the cost of the charger would go way up. as well as the size of the charger if you add an internal power supply.

Because they sell a power supply that goes with it... And a lot of people make their own power supplies. for a lot less than their power supply. Gives you a choice.

The power supply looks very nice, but It seems to be only 12Vs power supply. Luckily, I already have a 24V 1200W power supply. I bought that one here in the States. Its pretty good. I can power two chargers at once, and it also has a 12V tap in case you need it. But yes, I did paid over $177 for it. But it's worth it to me. As for the isdt P30 it looks pretty impressive. I may end up picking one up. I already own the isdt T-8. That charger is also very good.

Does it have power failure memory? E.g. if you've started charging a battery and the input power supply is cut off for a few minutes will it automatically resume charging when powered on again?

Asalamu Alikum.... I love your videos..... Hey, I have a question....what is the longest connection range a rc plane can have....if u still dont understand what I mean....read this:: I am making my own long range fpv plane but I want ATLEAST 100km range......I first thought about contacting uxv technologies and tell them to make it(because they do that)......but I still wanted to know(you know...) By the way....I love ur videos...(oh...sorry I said that before)... And yeah, if you can recommend a service to me that makes custom electronics or something....please do that....just recommend something that delivers to Kashmir(because i'm from kashmir..)......
@alishanmao4 жыл бұрын
Hmm in Kashmir and you want long range control? LOL hahahah, I can only imagine the types of missions you will be carrying on daily against indians. I do not think anyone will agree to sell you anything given your location (whatever be your use as you say for hobby) your location is too sensitive to sell something like this. we make custom long range drones 2 hours flight time possible, 100km range on autonomous flight, 15km live HD video, or 20km 25km Live SD video is possible. 50km UHF Control etc. ready to fly all built and tweaked. but again, we can't and won't ship to Kashmir. unless we can verify your identity and your intentions. hahahah
